A/N:Was going to go to my Teddy/Victoire prompt fic, but ended up something different when I started writing it. Only a oneshot.
Disclaimer: I don't own any one familiar from the Harry Potter series.
Jealousy was a new feeling to Teddy. I mean, sure he'd been jealous before, but never concerning Victoire. That left him in quite an odd situation right now.
"I'm so sorry," said the Hufflepuff before him hurriedly. Teddy had been walking and talking to Victoire on the way to the library when this boy came running around the corner, goofing around with friends, and crashed in to Victoire. "Let me help you."
"Thanks," Victoire smiled, accepting the hand up he offered. "It's Connor right?"
"Yup," he smiled. "And you're Victoire right? In my Charms, Herbology and Potions class?"
"Yeah," she laughed, "and various other classes since first year."
"Oh, let me get that," he said brushing her hand aside and picking up her bag for her.
Teddy felt incredibly awkward standing there. Neither of them had acknowledged his presence as of yet.
"Headed to the library then?" the Hufflepuff, Connor, asked.
"Yeah, got to get started on my Charms essay."
"Oh, that one's killer. I've still got a long way to go on it. The guys and me were just headed down to our dorm to grab a few snacks. Want me to bring you back something?"
"I think I should be okay until Dinner thanks."
"Alright, well if you need any help on it, don't be afraid to come ask me. I might not be the smartest bloke, but I'm good at Charms."
"I know, you're just shy of being top of the class," she smiled.
"Oh," he blushed lightly, "I didn't know you knew that."
"I pay attention to things," she smiled.
Then things fell silent. Victoire and Connor smiling at each other and Teddy standing beside them feeling even more uncomfortable in their seemingly comfortable silence. He cleared his throat, getting their attention.
"Oh!" Victoire exclaimed. "I'm so sorry Teddy. Connor, this is Teddy Lupin, one of my best friends. Teddy, this is Connor, a boy from my classes."
"So I've gathered," he mumbled.
"What was that?" she asked.
"I said, it was nice to meet you Connor," he lied.
"You too mate. I've got to get going though. They're likely to start a riot if I hold them up any longer," he said gesturing to his friends who were still goofing around. "I'll see you around though Victoire?"
"I'm always around," she smiled brightly.
"And don't be shy if you get stuck on that essay. I'd be glad to help you."
"I may just hold you to that," she said as he turned to leave.
"What was that?" Teddy asked after they were moving in the direction of the library again.
"What do you mean?"
"That, with that Connor bloke? What was that?"
"That was called making friends Teddy," she rolled her eyes.
"Oh please Victoire, he doesn't want to just be your friend."
"What's it matter Teddy? So what if he likes me? He wouldn't be the first."
"He's no good though Vic."
"You just met him! How can you know that already?"
"Look at how he was goofing around in the hallway. He's a trouble maker!"
"Oh please," she rolled her eyes again. "He's no worse then you, or Louis, or even Fred!"
A week later, Teddy's jealousy skyrocketed as he watched Victoire walk in to the Great Hall, holding hands with that Connor bloke. And that's when he realized he'd done the worst thing imaginable. He had fallen in love with his best friend.
