Ruby Words
"I love you."
His breath was humid as it ghosted over her neck. She shivered in hidden delight, the feeling overwhelming. His words burst sun through her heart and they were caring, caring neverleaveme. She smiled, an empty one so full of love and so full of everything she could muster.
"I love you too."
He snuggled into her side, dark hair brushing over her skin without intention, leaving goose bumps in its wake. An arm was thrown over her waist clumsily.
"I'll always love you."
Candy words that were achingly sweet. They went through her mind quickly and she responded with perfect words; no hesitation, just smooth whispers. Perfect, perfect, loveme. Her sky eyes shut. His breathing was a steady stream.
"Forever?"
She grasped his hand, running fingertips over sharpened nails. He flashed her a grin, the red crinkling beneath his eyes not only tattoo. Unbidden, a smile over took her lips.
"I'll never leave you. Never."
A white dog jumped with fluid moves onto the bed. It plopped itself down across her legs. She pushed her fingers through its fur soothingly.
"Thank you."
Her hand moved from the dog to bury itself in his wild hair. She pulled him closer to her neck in the same way a mother would to a child. Their relationship was anything but. His too warm breath danced over her burning skin. She inhaled sharply.
"I love you. I love you. Iloveyou. I love you so, so much."
A blissful sigh passed through her lips. Her gaze traveled from watching the dog breath, fur hot on her skin, to him. She smoothed his hair back with the hand left there, and ran her fingers down is palm with the other.
"Don't leave me."
She didn't mean for her voice to get so desperate. Her cheeks burned and she resumed staring at the dog. Breathe in, breathe out. So lulling.
"Never."
Nothings would never be anymore then that, nothing.
