AN: Okay, this is way, way, WAY outside my comfort zone. I do not normally just post poems on FanFiction. I wrote this way back in eighth grade before fandom or FanFiction were words in my vocabulary. Oh, how far I have come. But yeah, this is from Murtagh's perspective in the last book of The Inheritance Cycle when he's like "I know, I know Eragon, you want me with you, but I can't do it while I'm still affected by all these events" blah, blah, blah. Murtagh is one of my favorite characters he died then didn't die then was evil then was not and he was so dynamic just AGH I love him. Now I need to go re-read these books. Anyway that's where it came from and we'll see where it goes.

When all their blood is spent,

And a river flows at my feet.

When lust and desire have been sated.

When I no longer feel like

Tearing down the world to find

The vengeance I desire.

With all my anger spent,

My madness at the world;

When the coals no longer smolder,

Unbidden in my heart.

Then I will come back.

But until I no longer feel

Like filling the bottomless cup,

Brother,

I will not return.
