edward/bella.

By Katie

a/n: Basically, this takes place on Bella's first day at Forks High School. It's Edward-centric. And stuff...

disclaimer: I don't own Twilight, but if Stephenie Meyer ever decides to put the entire franchise up for auction, I'd be the highest bidder.

Seductress. Coquette. Courtesan. Siren. Vamp.

I can already tell...I already see that this girl, Bella, is going to be a problem. She is perfect. Too perfect. Sickeningly perfect. What's more, I can't read her mind.

And she's sitting right next to me...

I guess her name is Bella, but I don't even care about her name, because her smell is the thing that's driving me to the edge of insanity. It takes all of my strength not to just sink my teeth into her flesh right now.

Of all of the symbols of temptation, of out-of-reach perfection, that my mind could come up with, I get this.

This exceptionally beautiful girl, who smells like freesia.

The thoughts of the other male students around me are disgusting.

Oh man, that new girl is so hot.

I gotta ask her out, that girl is so sexy.

I would love to -

It's horrifying. My blood boils, and I hate that I agree with them, in lesser terms.

I try to think of something else, of my family, of the lecture Mr. Banner is prattling on about, of how absurd I'm being.

It doesn't help.

Do it, Edward. Do it. These pesky humans are no match for you. You can kill them all...and have the girl all to yourself.

My mind taunts me. I cannot drink her blood, I cannot drink her blood, I cannot drink her blood...

I wonder if this is what vampire hell is like.

The temptress named Bella catches my eye.

She looks timid, almost frightened. Good. She should be.

I don't mean to look angry, but I am. I give her an icy stare, hoping this will scare her away from me.

I am a monster, and she should be scared of me. But I don't think she is. At least not the scared I want her to be.

She averts her large, brown eyes away from me. I wish she wouldn't look at me anymore. It makes it all the more difficult for me to resist her.

Her name is Bella. Bella. Bella.

I know her name is Bella. Bella can be loosely translated into "beautiful."

She is beautiful. Bella is beautiful.

Her smell...is beautiful...

And then, the bell rings.

I make sure that I'm the first one out, the first person to get away from this Bella Swan.

I know this is what vampire hell is like.

Please excuse the random drabble, I just had to get this out of my system.

Please review with something more than "i loved it" or whatever, okay?
