A/N: So...here you go. I finally uploaded something! Yay! I'm not a total failure after all! :)
This is just an idea I got and jotted down...it's still in rough draft form, but I gave up and didn't want to do any more. So this is how it's going to be for a very long while. I don't know if it's a poem or a long drabble...but whatever, I guess it doesn't really matter. Anyway, I hope you at least partially enjoy this. Oh, and it wouldn't let me do spaces between the lines, so there's a little thing where the spaces should be. I tried to get them out of the way by putting them in the middle of the page, but...try to ignore them. Sorry about that, but I couldn't figure out any other way...if anyone knows how to solve this problem, please let me know.
Oh, and by the way, this isn't necessarily from Near's POV. I guess it could be if you wanted it to, but this is more of my speculations of him rather than his own thoughts. This doesn't mean that this is what I think he'd be thinking, it's just what I was randomly thinking as I wrote this...so yeah. I'll just shut up now.
Just because he refused to let his feelings run him didn't mean he didn't have any.
Just because he never let his feelings past his heart didn't mean he didn't care.
Just because he knew how to let go didn't mean he wanted to see it happen.
Just because he let them die didn't mean he wanted them to.

Just because Mello hated him didn't mean he had to hate Mello back.
Just because he always outperformed Mello didn't mean they had to be enemies.
Just because they were opposites didn't mean they couldn't work together.
Just because L surpassed them separately didn't mean they couldn't do it combined.
~n~
Just because Mello had made it possible didn't mean he was treated a hero.
Just because Mello was a hero didn't mean he had come out alive.
Just because Mello was killed didn't mean he deserved to die.
Just because he was alone didn't mean he was going to give up.
~n~
Just because Kira had murdered L didn't mean he couldn't be stopped.
Just because L had failed didn't mean the case was impossible.
Just because he couldn't hope to achieve L's greatness didn't mean he couldn't solve the case.
Just because he was a genius didn't mean he had to work alone.
~n~
Just because he had solved the case didn't mean he had done it alone.
Just because he had solved the case didn't mean he was the hero.
A/N: So, yep. Here you go. Hope you liked it. Critisizm welcome, but no flames please.
