Life had somewhat gotten back on track for Grace. She'd basically been blacklisted by her former employers, but she'd found work at a clinic that couldn't afford to be all that picky considering their general lack of funding. The hours were long and the work was hard, but it was ultimately rewarding because she could actually see some of the difference she was making in these people's lives since she usually saw them more than once.

It was as she was heading to her car with her keys in her hand sharp edge outward that she'd heard a sound that she thought she might never hear again. Walking into the urine scented alley where the blue police box appeared, she couldn't help but smile. Eventually an old man in turn of the century dress exited the TARDIS followed by a dark haired girl and a couple who looked as if they'd stepped out of the Sixties who wrinkled their noses in disgust at their surroundings.

"Hello Doctor." she said, catching the attention of the group.

"Hello," the old man said a bit uncertainly, looking at her as if he were trying to place her.

"There's something I've been meaning to return to you for a while now." she said smiling.

"Well then, give it here!" the Doctor who now looked far too old for her, but had a familiar air about him which made him unmistakable to anyone who knew him replied.

Not caring about her surroundings which weren't all that romantic, considering the odor and the trash that hadn't quite made it into the nearby dumpster, she rushed forward, grabbed the front of the Doctor's shirt, pulled him towards her, and kissed him soundly on the lips. The Doctor's companions stood stunned speechless as the old Doctor pushed himself away from her a few seconds later after his own shock had begun to wear off.

"Now see here! You can't just...You don't just..." the Doctor started indignantly before falling speechless.

Realizing her possible mistake considering the fact that the Doctor could travel through time and had likely had several more faces before the one she'd first seen, she decided to make as dignified an exit as she could without further compounding her embarrassment. As she exited the alley amidst a gale of giggles from the teenage girl who'd finally found her voice, she heard the man who looked to be a bit younger than her that was accompanying the Doctor say "I don't think that belonged to him".
