Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. I have just borrowed the characters and will return them unharmed ;-)

A/N: This is just something that came to me while I was sat in my bedroom being bored. Enjoy!

Minerva half marched, half ran through the long halls of the castle to the hospital wing. Poppy had flooed her only moments ago informing her that her daughter was lay in the hospital wing. She hadn't said why or how long she had been there, only that she was crying for her mother. Minerva cancelled her classes for the day and ran to her daughter's side.

"I'm here, baby." Minerva pulled Hermione into her arms, ignoring both Harry and Ronald. Ron stood catching flies, while Harry was smiling lightly as they watch their strict transfiguration professor soothed their friend.

"Mommy."

"I'm here, kitten. I'm right here." Minerva ran her fingers through her daughter's chocolate brown locks. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise." Hermione clung to Minerva and cried.

"Minerva. Good, you're here." Poppy came into Hermione's cubicle and greeted her friend.

Hermione let out a scream and buried her head in her mother's chest. Minerva managed to calm her down and then look from Poppy, to Harry, to Ron and then back again. Each looked as pale as the other. "Would someone please tell me what happened to my daughter?"

Harry swallowed and looked at his professor. "Hermione didn't show for breakfast so I went looking for her. When I found out she wasn't in the common room or her dormitory, I went and checked by the lake. I know how much she enjoys it down there, I just did expect to find her on her back crying." Harry moved closer to the mother and daughter took Hermione's hand in his. "I ran to Hermione and picked her up. She was asking for her mother, but I didn't know if I should take to you or not, so I brought her up her. I knew Madame Pomfrey would get you as soon as she saw Hermione."

"Thank you, Harry."

Harry blushed and looked lovingly at Hermione, who had fallen sleep in her mother's arms.

"Harry, may I ask how you found out about me?"

"Me and 'Mione have been going out for a year and a half now. She told me at the begging of this year." Harry was worried for his girl and Minerva saw it in his eyes just how much he loved her.

Minerva smiled at the boy. "You must be good to her Harry. She doesn't trust boys easily."

"I am professor. And, I know, she told me a shortened version of what happened."

"I'm glad she's got you, Harry." Minerva smiled.

"Thanks." Once again, Harry blushed.

Ron made a chocking noise from the corner he was stood in. "Harry? Maybe we should go?"

"Go ahead Ron. I'm staying here." Harry didn't move his eyes from his lover when he spoke to Ron.

"Fine." Ron stormed out and slammed the door of the wing shut, causing Hermione to wake with a start.

"Mommy?" This time it was little more than a whisper and both Harry and Minerva had to strain their ears to hear her.

"I'm here, kitten." Minerva pressed a kiss to Hermione's head. "Harry's here too, baby."

"Harry?" Hermione reached out to him.

"I'm right here, sugar." Harry sat on the edge of the bed, held Hermione's hand and ran his other through her hair.

Minerva pulled Harry into an embrace and held both children close to her and made sure that her daughter was touching her boyfriend.

"You need to rest, kitten. We don't want the dementors to affect you again too soon."

"Okay, mommy. Will you both stay?"

"I'm not going anywhere, baby."

"Neither am I, sweetie."

Hermione smiled, closed her eyes and snuggled closer to her mother, never letting go of Harry or her mother while she slept.
