I was looking over the last Full Moon manga, and of course, I ended up reading it. When I got to the end of the epilouge, it suddenly struck me how similar Eichi and the Little Mermaid are; how both the ones they love ended up with another and they (for lack of better word) disapeared. I went back to the first book and refreshed my memory, and I ended up making this poem.
It's from Eichi's view, and how he feels about Mitsuki.

Sea Foam
I may no longer be 'alive'
but I beat within your heart.
You may not be able to 'see' me
but we'll never be apart.
Even if you ever move on
I'll still cling tightly to you.
I expressed my feelings true to my heart
do you love me too?
I love your look of happiness
it lets me fly inside;
and you look of sadness
then I can hold you when you cry.
Let me be your prince, fair maiden,
I will be honest and true.
I promise to always, forevermore,
love you and only you.
If you choose to love another
or do not know I'm here;
I'll still love you but I'll just watch
maybe shedding a few tears.
For even though I'm not the one
to make you laugh and smile;
You'll be happy, that's enough,
to make everything worthwhile.
As I slowly fade away
like a certain mermaid damsel
Your smile fills and warms my soul
and I know that all is well.
"I don't believe the little mermaid thought she was unhappy… Because if it were me, even if I were crying…I'd be happy just to see you smile, Mitsuki."
