Just a simple Clato oneshot I wrote a while ago. Enjoy!

I wake up in a world that I am unfamiliar with. The moon is shining brightly around a large, golden horn. I breathe in, and remember where I am. The Hunger Games.

Of course this is where I am. Where else would I be? Where else could I be? I lie back down and reach out for the blanket that was covering me. It is sprawled across the ground. Definitely not where it was when I woke up.

Wait. I woke up without a blanket. It was too far too have been thrown across in my sleep. Then the thought comes into my mind. Cato. He must have woken up earlier and ditched the blanket and forgotten I was there.

I then crawl across the grass and retrieve it. I set it down where I was sleeping, but then I get up. I walk to the other side of the Cornucopia. There he is, looking into the moonlight. I silently approach him and whisper, "Cato. Why are you up at this time?"

He turns around. I can tell that he wasn't expecting to see me up at this time of night. He looks into the night and then replies to me, "I woke up in the night and came out here. To think."

I shiver. The weather is icy cold. He sees me tremble and puts his arm around me. Something is troubling him. I can see it in his eyes.

I then ask him, "What were you thinking about?"

We begin walking back to the blanket.

"Us."

I know what he means. We are more than just district partners in the Games. He didn't volunteer for glory. Not to save the life of the child that was reaped. It was for me.

We knew each other since we were very young. I met him when I was four and he was six. He was running around in the marketplace. He was disturbing the merchants and was bothering the buyers. A Peacekeeper came up to him and told him to stop.

He didn't listen and kept on bothering the people. The Peacekeeper came up to him again and asked him where his parents where. Cato is an orphan. He never knew his parents. I knew this because I had seen him running around on the streets before.

So I went up and told the Peacekeeper that this boy was my brother and that we were out trading. The Peacekeeper let him go and told him to get out of the market. It didn't take him a long time to run out. I chased him to the dumpster near the market.

He asked me who I was and I told him. He said that he had ran away from the Community Home because he knew that soon he would be placed into a special school to train for the Hunger Games. I told him that my parents were going to send me as well.

That was how we met. And now this is where we are. Neither of us wanted to be here, but it was fate. Now both of us can make it out alive.

It won't be easy, but we've been training our whole lives. The Games are down to the last six. Me and Cato, from 2, a very sly girl that was nicknamed Foxface during training from 5, a boy called Thresh from 11 that wouldn't join our alliance, and the boy and girl from 12, Katniss and Peeta.

Cato loves me. I know it. Only I don't know how I feel about him. I do love him, but we have known each other for so long. I see him as an older brother, really. But how can we keep going in this dangerous Game if we are to be together?
