Jadis knifed a faun and watched him die with a sigh. Death was a luxury she had sacrificed long ago. She had once thought it no sacrifice. Since then she had since discovered that immortality was its own price: there is no light at the end of the tunnel when the tunnel has no end. She was sentenced to live for all eternity.
Death and a new life in a new world would indeed be a sweet release, but even were Aslan to somehow destroy her, Jadis knew she would not travel further up and further in. Damnation awaited her.
