Rebound Service Guy
'For a beautiful woman, you look awfully lonely,' a smooth voice said from Hermione's right. She turned from nursing her glass of whiskey to find a tall guy with striking white-blond hair gazing at her with a small smile. 'And sad.'
Hermione let out a small bitter chuckle.
'My boyfriend dumped me today,' she told the guy. 'Guess I wasn't good enough for him.' She took a sip of the last of the whiskey and gestured at the bartender for another glass.
'Ah,' the guy said understandingly, taking the empty seat beside her. 'Would you be in need of...let's say, a rebound guy?'
Hermione let out a tinkling laugh. 'So eager,' she said, looking at him with laughter gracing her brown eyes. 'And forward, too. You gotta admire that.'
He gave her a smile that she knew was often used to charm his way into ladies' pants - and often succeeded. 'Is that a yes?'
Hermione took the refilled glass of whiskey and took a sip, the grin fading somewhat from her face into a sad smile. 'No.' She took another sip of whiskey. 'No, I'm not ready for a rebound yet. Tonight, I just want to mope. And drown my sorrow in whiskey.' She raised her glass at him in a silent toast before draining it. He eyed her warily, somewhat inexplicably worried for her, as she gestured at the bartender for yet another glass. 'Maybe tomorrow night though.'
He raised an eyebrow, silently telling the bartender to not get her that third glass. 'You'll be here tomorrow?' he asked.
'Maybe,' she smiled. 'I'm not sure yet. Why don't you give me your number and I'll give you a rain check tomorrow.'
The guy let out a hearty laugh. 'How is it that I came here to flirt with you, yet you're the one getting my number?'
Hermione grinned. 'Because I'll be the one in need of your services tomorrow night,' she gave him a look.
'Services, huh?' He knew she was joking about his 'services', and yet he found himself hoping she would call him up tomorrow.
'Mmhmm. Am I getting those digits then?' She offered her phone, which he took and started entering his number into. When he gave it back, she saw that he had entered it under 'Rebound Service Guy.' She could only laugh. 'A name would also be nice.'
He laughed, getting up from the chair. 'It's Draco Malfoy. I'll see you tomorrow night.'
He turned and left the bar.
