Protecting Him
Reid was flung back towards Morgan as the car turned this and that, giving Morgan directions Reid could feel the tension in the air as they got closer to the person. They had barely missed crashing into the ute, took deep breaths as he called directions to Morgan. Turning on to a road, Reid's eyes feel on the car the unsub had been driving in, when he had left the house. Pulling to the side of the street, Reid and Morgan were out of the car, Reid headed straight for the car while Morgan glanced around the street. Stepping up to drivers door, Reid pulled his sleeve up over his hands and tried the door. As the door opened, Reid leaned down to get a good look at inside of the car.
"Reid," Morgan called, he was stood at the entrance of alley staring at Reid.
Straightening up, Reid looked at Morgan unsure of what Morgan wanted. Pointing down the alley, Reid nodded knowing that Morgan would be back in a minute. Leaving Reid, Morgan wandered down the alley slowly as he checked for the suspect. At the car, Reid checked for any evidence that may lead him to the suspect and any that may connect the suspect to the murderers. Sitting in the driver's seat, Reid searched under the seat and inside the glove box, he found it strange that both areas were completely empty of everything including dust. The light in the glove box was off, Reid felt for the bulb not finding it. Getting out of the car, Reid walked round to the other side of the car opening the door Reid sat in the passenger seat of the car, he leaned down and took a look inside of the glove box. Finding the place where the bulb should have gone, Reid felt something shoved inside where the bulb was suppose to be. Trying to pull whatever it was out of the real, real small space. Finally able to un-lodged the thing from the bulb holder, it feel into the glove box before falling down on to the floor, standing from the car, Reid knelt down beside the ear and felt around on the floor. Sensing something behind him, Reid passed it off as just being Morgan.
"Morgan, I think I found something," Reid told him, not bothering to turn around to see who it was.
Looking around the alley Morgan found it completely empty, he turned not wanting to leave Reid alone for too long. Heading back towards Reid, Morgan was nearing the end of the alley when he saw the suspect's car. He couldn't see Reid near the car, as he exited the alley, he stopped looking around for Reid, beginning to worry, Morgan looked back to where he had stopped the card, expecting Reid to be getting something from the truck.
"Reid, Kid, where are you?" Morgan called out.
Not getting a response, Morgan pulled out his gun; pointing it to the ground Morgan walked toward suspect's car. Nearing the car, he glanced inside the car through the side back window. Seeing Reid lying in the back of the car, Morgan tried to open the door to find it locked. Reid just laid down on the back seat, he was unconscious. Smashing the car window in the front, Morgan unlocked the door, before unlocking the back door. Opening the door to get to Reid, Morgan pulled Reid up into a sitting position, supporting Reid's head Morgan tired to wake the boy up.
"Reid...Reid..you need to wake up...Spencer Reid, talk to me," Morgan said.
Falling towards Morgan, Reid's body was limp as he rested against Morgan. Looking at Reid, Morgan didn't know what he needed to do. The suspect had to be around somewhere, he had to be near. Morgan had been gone less than two, maybe three minutes. The suspect had to be really close. Morgan growled as he felt a gun pushed to the back of his neck.
"Should have known," Morgan whispered, pushing Reid back against the back seat.
"Leave the boy, stand up and close the car door," Morgan stood from the floor following the man's orders.
Closing the door Morgan hoped the man would lose his focus, feeling the man take his hand cuffs from the back of his belt.
"Turn around, slowly," The man ordered, turning round to face the man Morgan hoped that Reid would wake up soon.
"Handcuff yourself to that bike rack," The man ordered, Morgan moved closer to the bike rack.
Taking his handcuffs from the man, Morgan snapped them on to one wrist. He moved his hands closer to the bar, snapping the cuff around his wrist and glanced back at the man to show him he had done what he had asked.
"I thank you for all of your corporations," The suspect told Morgan, lowering his gun the man turned to his ear and left Morgan.
Watching the suspect walk to his car, the suspect slid into the driver's seat and started the engine. Morgan pulled as hard as he could trying to free himself from the cuffs so he could get to Reid.
"Reid...Reid," Morgan shouted, the skin on his wrists raw, stopping Morgan tried to angle himself as he could reach the key that was tucked in to small pouch at his side. Not able to reach the key, Morgan twisted himself even more putting a painful stain on his shoulders. The car zoomed forwards, Morgan froze seeing the car drive away with Reid in the back, taking in the murder plate of the car. Morgan could hear sirens in the distance. From the car Morgan could hear his phone ringing over and over again. Cop cars and an FBI car turned on to the same street, Morgan saw the large black FBI car parked in front of the bike rack. Hotch, Rossi and Pentiss stepped out of the car, Hotch moved over to Morgan, he pulled out the key from Morgan's pouch and unlocked the cuffs.
"He took Reid, we need to catch up to him," Morgan told Hotch.
Freezing for a second, he glanced at Rossi before turning his attention back to Morgan. Resting his hand down on to Morgan's shoulder, Hotch told him everything was going okay and that Reid was going to be okay. Hours passed and still they were no closer to finding Reid, Hotch sat in his office looking over the evidence over and over again. Hotch wanted so badly for Reid to be sitting across from his desk explaining something he really didn't understand. Resting his head down onto his desk, Hotch closed his eyes as a memory flashed through his mind.
Memory
Hotch sat on the couch in Reid's apartment, his apartment was so much smaller than his own. Everywhere he looked he found books piled, it didn't surprise Hotch at all, he knew the boy liked reading but didn't expect him to have as many books as he did. What surprised him was the fact that there was only one bookcase in the whole room, looks double stocked and piled filing the bookcase complete. Reid sure had the room for more bookcases, he couldn't help wonder why the boy didn't have any.
"Sorry, the place is a mess, I'm redecorating my second spare room," Reid apologised, handing Hotch a cup of tea, while Reid sipped at his coffee.
"Show me," Hotch told Reid, standing from the couch.
Reid showed Hotch down the narrow hallway and into a reasonable large room, Hotch could smell the fresh paint and see the long thin cardboard boxes stacked at the side of the room apart from that the room was empty. Hotch knelt down to get a closer look at the boxes noticing that they were bookcases. That was why there was books everywhere, Hotch turned to Reid leaning against the doorframe looking at him.
"That's why your living room is filled with books," Hotch said, Reid nodded glancing down at his watch.
"Hotch, I need to go to the university...one of my old professions has asked me to speak to his students," Reid told Hotch.
"Do you mind if I stay until you return?" Hotch questioned, he saw Reid's uncertainly for a second until he nodded.
Leaving the house, Reid felt strange knowing that he was leaving Hotch alone in his house. Reid just hoped that Hotch didn't go snooping around his house, he knew there was nothing too bad, but if Hotch looked in his bedside draw he would find boxes and boxes of pills. Dressed in his usual, Hotch took off his suit jacket and made his way to the kitchen, taking a sharp knife from the knife block on the bench, Hotch returned to Reid's spare room. Opening the first box, Hotch scanned the instructions looking them up and down before turning his attention to the screws, bolts, washers and wood slates in the box. Being quick to screw everything together, Hotch was finished with the first bookcase in twenty minutes. The rest went together quite easily, the three corner bookcases were a pain, but Hotch had them quickly together. Moving all the bookcases into place, Hotch looked around the room, he stared at the room, with all the bookcases in place there was no weak, every available space in the room was filled. Everything fit perfectly; Hotch knew Reid must have measured and brought what was needed to the exact measurements. Hotch looked at the bookcases, thinking to himself that all of Reid's looks would fit on the sleeves. Bring books into the room, Hotch sorted by authors. He began to put books together slowly making his way through the piles which he had brought in. Stepping into his apartment, Reid expected to see Hotch in the living room, not seeing him Reid noticed Hotch's jacket thrown over the back of his couch. Noticing piles of his books gone, he wandered into the kitchen, noticing a knife was missing, pulling his bag over his head, Reid gently set his bag down on the couch as he headed up the narrow hallway. Hearing something inside the spare room, Reid stepped into the doorway. Stood completely shocked, Reid hadn't a clue at what to say he was amazed.
"Hello Reid, how was the talk?" Hotch asked, noticing Reid's surprise and ignoring it.
"You didn't need to do this," Reid whispered watching as Reid took more and more of the room in.
Hotch put the books he was holding in the bookcases, before he turned back to Reid to pay full attention to him.
"You didn't need to do this, I would have got round to it," Reid told Hotch.
"What do you think?" Hotch asked, Reid realised he hadn't told Hotch had fantastic he thought it looked.
"It's perfect," Reid answered, tears gathering in his eyes.
"Reid, come here," Hotch told him, avoiding the piles of books Reid made his way to Hotch. Standing in front of Hotch, Reid felt himself being turned around to look at the books already on the shelfs.
"Your books at work are sorted by authors, I thought that you would sort the same at home," Hotch told him.
Hugging Hotch tightly, Reid felt so happy and so loved. Not use to being hugged by the boy, Hotch hugged him back, knowing the boy really thankful for what he had done for him.
"You are welcome," Hotch told the boy.
Reid looked up at Hotch his eyes watery from the happiness he was feeling. Leaning down, Hotch pressed his hips against Reid's, he let the boy soak in the kiss before he pulled away. The young FBI agent/doctor didn't have a clue what to do, he was frozen in place. Unsure what he was doing, Reid pilled his arms close to his body and averted his eyes away from Hotch.
"Why are you...Why are you..."Reid didn't know how to phrase the question he stepped backwards.
Stepping back again, Reid knocked over piles of books and then fell backwards. Reaching out to stop Reid from falling, Hotch stepped forwards on to a uneven book and slipped forwards. Landing on the books, Reid saw as Hotch fell down after him. On his hands and knees over Reid, Hotch was just as surprised as Reid was. Opening his mouth to say something, Reid beat him.
"You...kissed...me...why?" Reid asked, his breaths coming out in pants as he waited for an answer.
"I love you," Hotch told Reid, stunned at Hotch's statement, Reid parted his lips and stared at Hotch.
Reid thought of all the times he had interacted with Hotch, going through every single time, Reid found small signs of Hotch showing Reid his true feelings. Staring up at Hotch, as he played the scenes in his head, Reid noticed that Hotch seemed to be showing himself to Reid more and more. Gently Hotch kissed Reid's forehead before climbing off him and standing back to his feet.
"Do you want me to leave?" Hotch asked, holding his hand out for Reid.
"No...but please don't touch me, I'm confused," Reid told Hotch; to Hotch the word confused coming from Reid's lips sounded so strange.
"Confused...I will do want ever you want," Hotch told Reid, reaching his hand up to Hotch's, Reid took his hand.
Hotch knew Reid had asked him to not touch him, but he knew this wasn't what Reid had meant. When Reid stood to his feet, he smiled gently to Hotch, before leaning down and picking up a small pile of books. With both of them sorting the books, floor was empty in not time. That was just some of the books Reid had in the living room, that was just some of the books. Hours passed, Hotch soon learned that Reid had books in almost every room of the house; the last room they were doing was Reid's bedroom. Stepping into the younger boys room, the first thing that Hotch noticed was Reid's bed was single. Glancing at the younger boy, Reid didn't seem to notice Hotch's look but Hotch knew he must have.
"Reid..." Hotch began, stopping because he didn't want to ask Reid in case of confusing him more.
"What is it, Hotch?" Reid asked, hearing his name.
"Their books aren't going to fit on the bookcases," Hotch told Reid, thinking something out of mid-air.
"I know," Reid replied, leaving the room with a pile of books.
Staring at the completely filled bookcases, Hotch didn't know where the rest of the books from Reid's bedroom were going to go. Reaching up Reid began to put books on top of bookcases, at the end of the bookcase he stacked large books on top of each other and leant the rest of the books beside them, the stack of books stopping all the other books from falling over. Still with books, Reid sat on the floor looking at the bookcases with a content smile on his face.
End Memory
Hotch woke with a start as Garcia pushed his shoulder, jumping back Garcia jumped back not expecting him to jump. Opening his eyes, Hotch looked up at Garcia, his vision blurry from sleep as he came fully back to his senses.
"What is it Garcia?" Hotch asked, his voice rough from lack of sleep.
"The suspect, Thomas Brice sent us a video tape," Garcia said, her voice shaking as she spoke.
Hotch was straight to his feet, he meet his team in the conference room, everyone was all sitting around waiting for him. Garcia hit play for the tape, she sat down, expecting Hotch to take his seat at the head of the table. Hotch stood watching the black screen. Old wooden floors were seen and rustling heard. The camera moved unsteadily, until the suspect stopped shaking the camera now focused on Reid. Lying on the hard wooden floor, Reid was unmoving apart from his breathing which unless you were looking for you wouldn't see. Ignoring the fact that the image was of Reid, Hotch tried to focus on everything else. Thomas Brice stepped into the picture, he leaned down beside Reid, pulling him up into a sitting position and leaning the younger boy back against his chest. When Reid was sitting up everyone could see the blood on the side of his face; his body limp as he sat leaning against the main.
"Spencer Reid, is going to help me," Thomas said.
Thomas pulled Reid's hair away from his face, Hotch felt the anger rise inside him as he wanted to kill the person for daring to touch Reid in such as a harsh way.
"The young genius is going to get my parents out of prison," Thomas told them.
"Garcia, find out about his parents," Hotch ordered, Garcia was grateful to be able to leave the room.
"BAU, you better say goodbye to Spencer because you will never see him for such a long time," Thomas said, before the camera suddenly stopped.
"Spencer," Hotch whispered, his eyes wide as JJ rewind the and pauses the video at an image of Reid.
"We need to find him," JJ told everyone, trying to steady shaking hands.
"We will," Rossi answered, glancing at Hotch to find him walking back to his office.
Rossi followed after Hotch, he entered Hotch's office to find Hotch already on the phone. Listening to Hotch talk, he could tell Hotch was calling in different departments to help find Reid. Rossi had seen the signs, he knew Hotch and Reid were in a relationship he had known for such a long time that Hotch had been in love with Reid. Crossing the room as the man hung up, Rossi walked round Hotch's desk, standing over him.
"Aaron, we will find him. We will save him, we will bring him home," Rossi told Hotch.
"I need him, Rossi. I need Reid, I need him to be here," Hotch answered
Laying on the floor, Reid opened his eyes staring ahead seeing the floor and legs of a table and chairs but couldn't see anything else. Thomas wasn't in Reid's line of sight but he was sure Thomas wouldn't be too far away. Unable to shout out, Reid glanced down at his wrists. He had felt something on his wrist, seeing a pair of heavy duty handcuffs tightly around his wrists. Using his hands to pull his body into a sitting position, Reid looked around the room, he didn't have a clue where he was. He was getting bits of information quickly Reid tried to process the information, but his head burned with a sharp headache. Lifting his hands up to his head, Reid felt the dried blood down the side of his head. Moving his hands higher Reid felt a bruise on the side of his forehead beneath his hairline.
"Ah," Reid whispered, touching the bruise before pulling his hands away.
"Is your head sore?" Thomas asked, coming up behind Reid and circling him slowly.
Feeling like prey, Reid's head spun as he saw the man walk round and round him. His breathing was unsteady as he tried to get a hold of himself, Reid was finding it so strange that he was unable to focus on anything. Blinking rapidly, Reid turned his head two the side and then back again to the other side, Slipping down on to the floor, Reid stared at the roof, his mind in a complete muddle.
"What did you give me?" Reid questioned, his words slurred as he tried to speak with the man who had kidnapped him.
"Small doses of sleeping pills, I'm aware you don't like narcotics, so I thought you would prefer the sleeping pills instead," Thomas told Reid.
"How do you know so much about me?" Reid questioned, staying as still as he possibly could.
Thomas held up Reid's shoulder bag, reaching out to take the shoulder bag from Thomas, Reid couldn't touch it before Thomas moved it away.
"Give me my bag," Reid said, knowing exactly what he had in that bag.
"I have already looked in your bag, what I found was very strange. I mean who carriers a picture of their boss in their wallet, care to explain why?" Thomas asked.
"Give me my bag, Reid repeated, this time Thomas handed the bag to Reid.
Reaching in his bag for his wallet, Reid pulled the photo out of the small space in his wallet. Unfolding the photo, Reid held it up to show Thomas, the photo was of the whole team, Reid just folded the picture so that it would fit in his wallet.
"You are not good at reading people, are you?" Reid asked Thomas, receiving a slap to his cheek Reid cried out as Thomas's hand connected with his cheek.
"I warn you, shut up," Thomas ordered.
"Explain why you are doing this," Reid said, his cheek reddening and head spinning from the force of the hit.
Reid turned his head away, as Thomas raised his hand about to hit him. Lowering his arm, Reid waited until Thomas's arm was lowered. Thomas stood and walked away, leaving Reid alone again. When Thomas left his sight, Reid began to feel a wave of panic raising to the surface. Closing his eyes, Reid took shallow breaths as he tried to calm himself down. Reid had to stop his mind from over thinking everything, as he thought about the situation his stress levels were going through the roof. Knowing that he was having troubles controlling his stress levels, Reid sat up and tried to stand. Falling down to the ground, there was a loud bang when Reid hit the floor. Returning to the room, Thomas saw Reid on the floor lying on his stomach, the FBI agent was moving around too much for Thomas. Reaching into his pocket, Thomas took out a small bottle, walking to the sink Thomas pulled a needle from the side of the dusty sink. Pulling the cover of the needle off, Thomas pulled the top of the needle up to get the grey coloured liquid into the needle.
"No, Thomas what is it? What is the liquid?" Reid asked panicked, as he pulled back away from Thomas.
Nearing Reid, Thomas grabbed Reid's shoulder.
"What was the liquid?" Reid asked concerned, feeling his heart beat quickly in his chest, his hand spinning and the pain running through his body.
"Don't worry, everything will be okay," Thomas told Reid, moving the needle to stick it into Reid's arm.
"Please Thomas," Reid said, pulling back and trying to stop Thomas from putting the needle in his arm.
Pulling Reid's arm away from him, Thomas forced the needle harshly into the skin above his elbow and pressed the liquid into Reid's body. When Thomas released Reid's arm, Reid pulled his arm to his body and hugged it close. Staring at Thomas for a moment, Reid's eyes rolled back in his head and he lay limply on the floor, as Thomas stared down at Reid.
"Spencer Walter Reid," Thomas whispered.
The BAU office was filled with noise and extremely crowded, Hotch sat in his office with the door closed. He could still hear the noise clearly from inside the office. Sighing Hotch watched the video once again, on the tablet that Garcia had given him.
"Sir I found everything I could about Thomas's parents," Garcia told Hotch, pushing her head in his office.
"Get the team together in the meeting room," Hotch replied.
"Already done," Garcia answered, receiving a nod from Hotch.
Again Garcia and Hotch entered the meeting room, Hotch took his seat at the head of the table and Garcia sat next to him.
"Anthony and Caroline Brice, have been married for twenty four years, they had a son Thomas Brice ten years before they married. Twenty years ago Thomas's parents killed ten people, all the people where elderly, then kidnapped them, tortured them and then killed them. Dumping their bodies in the middle of the forest," Garcia told everyone, handing a file to everyone.
"Which prison are they in?" Morgan asked.
"That's the catch, they died four years ago," Garcia told everyone, everyone looked up at Garcia.
"This make everything so much more complicated," JJ whispered.
The rest of the team left the meeting room to inform the others on this new information. Hotch stared at the board across the room from him, in the centre of the board was a photo of Reid. Ignoring the statistics, Hotch knew he had to see Reid again if he didn't, Hotch wouldn't be able to live. His mobile rang, ignoring the ringing for minutes, before he answered his phone.
"Hello," Hotch greeted.
"Aaron, this is Gideon. I am on my way," Hotch sighed as he heard the older man on the phone telling him he was going to help.
"Gideon," Hotch whispered.
"I will be there before an hour has passed," Gideon told Hotch, before he hung up.
Putting his phone down on the desk, Hotch stared at the image of Reid, not knowing what to do with himself. Hotch opened his mouth to say something to someone when he realised he was alone in the room. Going over the video once again, Hotch had returned to his office not wanting to keep looking up able to see him, to see Reid's photo smiling down at him. Before Hotch knew it Gideon stepped into his office.
"Gideon, you are here," Hotch whispered, glad to see the older man's face.
"I didn't realise your relationship was...boyfriend type relationship," Gideon told Hotch.
Sighing he knew Gideon would realise it really quickly, but he wasn't expecting Gideon to know with seconds of walking in the room.
"How did you figure that out so quickly?" Hotch questioned, his thoughts so caught up on Reid.
"Garcia," Gideon replied.
"Reid, must have told her..." Hotch whispered.
"Hotch, all I know is that Reid is missing and we need to find him. I need the details, all the details you have," Gideon told Hotch.
Hotch tried to force himself into his professional mindset and focus on the task in hand, but was having a hard time keeping his mind there. Taking Gideon to the meeting room, Hotch went over all the details relating to Reid's kidnapping and Thomas Brice. As they went Gideon asked varies questions, most of which Hotch was unable to answer. Exiting the meeting room, the BAU members made their way towards Hotch and Gideon.
Spencer Reid lay on the floor, his eyes closed as he slowly came to again. As Reid opened his eyes, he saw Thomas right in front of him, staring directly at him. Closing his eyes, Reid hoped he was dreaming, taking a deep breath Reid reopened his eyes. Thomas smiled at him, stroking Reid's face. Being kissed on his forehead, Reid squeezed his eyes shut and tried everything he was feeling down into his mind.
"You look really sick," Thomas told Reid.
"The stuff you are giving me, is going to give me a panic attack," Reid mumbled, Thomas didn't understand what Reid was saying.
"You are going to need to speak up," Thomas told Reid, clearly not really caring as he got up and left the room.
Reid tried to pull his hands down from above his head, only to find his hands were cuffed above his head. Pulling at his feet, Reid realised they were chained to the bottom of the bed. Unable to breath, Reid tried to scream in pain, but no sound came out. Trying his best to make any sound, Reid knew that if he had a panic attack now and Thomas didn't return he could easily die. In a last ditch attempt to call for Thomas, Reid tried to scream again. Tears gathered in the corners of his eyes, rolling back into their sockets, Reid's whole body began to thrash about. The bed creaked and shifted around, on, as Reid's panic attack set in; having the noise from the other room, Thomas stepped into the room. Seeing Reid, Thomas was by Reid's side in seconds he held Reid down against the bed holding him down against the bed. Taking a needle from his pocket, he jammed it into Reid's shoulder, it took minutes for Reid to stop shaking and go completely still. Laying on the bed, Reid was so cold. Staring down at Reid, he couldn't help but smile as he stared down at the genius boy he needed to get his parents out of jail. The next time Reid woke he would question him about his parents and tell him what he needed to do. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Thomas twisted Reid's hair around his fingers as the enjoyed the feel of Reid's soft locks running through his fingers.
"Smart boy, you will save my parents," Thomas told Reid, unaware what he was doing.
Tightening his hand in Reid's hair, Thomas tightened his grip even tighter. Loosening his grip, Thomas released Reid's hair, moving his hand down to Reid's neck.
"Spencer Reid, the burden you carry must be so large," Thomas told the sleeping Reid.
Curling up at Reid's side, Thomas stroked Reid's arm again and again, he wanted to be so much closer to finding his parents, but knowing that Spencer was the key to freeing his parents. Spencer was the key.
"You are the key," Thomas told Reid.
"We have a lead, the car in which Thomas drove away in was found not far from where Reid was kidnapped," Morgan told everyone in the meeting room.
"I looked at the police records and found that a car was stolen around the time Thomas would have dumped the car," Garcia added.
"He changed cars, with Reid that must have been difficult, but why would he take Reid with him?" JJ asked.
"What is the furthest he could of got?" Gideon asked, the room went quiet.
Everyone knew it was to go with Reid, he was the one who was able to look at a map and narrow down the search area in a matter of seconds. Bt with him gone, no one knew where to start. Taking in the time the tape had arrived at the BAU and what it had to go through, Reid could be no further than an hour away from where he was kidnapped.
"Garcia, if you want you can leave now," Hotch told Garcia, knowing that she wouldn't want to the video again.
Turning off the lights, the team viewed the video once again. Every time the team viewed the video they noticed more things in the video they hadn't realised before. Nothing was leading them to Reid, it was all useless information that wasn't helping them find Reid. Hotch stared at the image of Reid, tears gathering his eyes, before without warning tears fell down his face. Rossi looked at Hotch, standing from his seat and leading Hotch out of the room before the rest of the team could see him crying. Taking Hotch into his office, Rossi sat Hotch down beside Hotch, Rossi rubbed Hotch's back knowing that this had to be hard for the man. The door to Hotch's office opened and Gideon stepped inside, closing the door behind him.
"Rossi and I, will take over the investigation. You are not in the right mindset to be able to lead this investigation, we all know that," Gideon told Hotch, not approaching the two other agents.
In Garcia's office, she mapped out the maximum distance he could have taken Reid; Reid made it look so easy when he did this, but Garcia was finding it really difficult to create a map. Certain areas she was able to cut out. Picking up her mobile, Garcia looked through her contacts, finding the person she was looking for and called them. Waiting for an answer, Garcia tried to keep herself calm.
"Penelope Garcia, I'm calling to talk to Diana Reid," Garcia told the nurse on the other end.
"I'm sorry to inform you, but Diana Reid is currently missing," The nurse informed Garcia.
"Missing...what happened?" Garcia asked, her mind thinking in a hundred miles a minute.
Garcia was already hacking into Reid's mother's records at the nursing home, the nurse explained to her that she couldn't release that information, but Garcia already had the report in front of her. Saying goodbye to the nurse, Garcia hung up, printing the report Garcia headed for Morgan. Emily was at his desk, she watched Garcia knowing that she had found something out. Standing up Emily moved over to them and waited to see what Garcia wanted to say.
"Diana Reid, Reid's mum is missing, it is believed she was kidnapped," Garcia said.
"Do you think it has something to do with Reid's disappearance?" Pentiss asked.
"It has to be, the guy must have planned this so he could get Reid," Morgan replied.
"We need to find Reid and his mum, Reid is still within the city, it would unproductive to take him out until he has bargained to get his parents back," Emily said.
"He might steal another car to get Reid out the city, but he would quickly get picked up by high way patrol. In the video we saw he was in a dark room, with a small window high on the wall. It is possible that he was underground but doesn't narrow things down, he still could be anywhere. JJ came up behind the three, she looked at them knowing they had found something out.
"Reid's mum is missing, she was believed to be kidnapped. We think this is connected, this would confirm that there was more than one unsub, there was probably more than two," Garcia answered.
"Garcia, go through his phone records and see if you can find anything to suggest another unsub," Morgan told her.
"I also created one of those map things," Garcia told Morgan.
"Thanks, Baby Girl," Morgan replied, hoping the nickname would make her feel at least a little bit better.
"Dr Spencer Reid, why didn't you tell me you were going to have a panic attack. Imagine how your mum would feel knowing you were dead," Thomas told Reid, Reid had came round, his mind all too aware of the panic attack that could of killed him if Thomas hadn't re-entered the room.
"Leave my mother out of this," Reid whispered, too weak to do anything more.
"There will be a trade, your mum for my parents. You Spencer are going to make it happen," Thomas told him, wide eyed Reid hoped his mum was safe bit he knew she wasn't.
"Mum," Spencer whispered, his face showing his emotions as all his pain showed on his face.
"Your mum is safe with my friend, as long as you behave and she behaves both of you will be completely fine," Thomas told Reid.
Feeling a deep feeling inside his chest, Reid tried not to cry. His mum was his only real family, she was his weakness above everything else was his mum. Moving closer to Reid, Thomas released Reid's hands. Pulling his hands down, Reid looked at his hands before they fell down to rest on his stomach. His wrists raw and skin red and white, not knowing what this man wanted him to do Reid just lay on the floor too weak to do anything but stared at the man who was holding him captive.
"I will call your team and you will stay quiet, while I talk," Thomas told Reid, not moving Thomas thought for a second that Reid was asleep before he saw his gaze staring up at him.
Reid saw Thomas holding a card in his hand and ringing the number; Thomas stared down at the card, it was Reid's business card with the BAU number and Reid's mobile on it. He had rang Reid's mobile, wondering if anyone was going to answer. Standing staring across at Reid, it was on the second ring that the phone was answered.
"Hello, this is Dr Reid's phone, may I help you?" JJ said, she had heard Reid's phone ringing and answered it straight away.
"Is this the BAU?" Thomas asked.
"Yes, how may I help you?" JJ asked, hoping whoever was on the other end of the phone didn't ask where Reid was.
"Reid, wants you to release my parents," Thomas answered, straight away JJ knew who was on the other end of the phone.
Gideon and Rossi entered the room, they saw the look on JJ's face and her mouth trying to form words but not able to. Straight away Gideon took the phone from JJ and held it to his ear.
"This is Jason Gideon, what do you want?" Gideon asked.
"Reid, wants my parents to be released from prison," Thomas repeated.
There was silence for a minute, Reid had gone to tell Garcia that Thomas was ringing. Reaching Garcia's office, she already was at her computer typing trying to locate the phone. Getting an address, her heart jumped with joy. Rossi confirmed the address with Garcia before he was out of the room gathering every free agent and giving them the address and instructions.
"we can discuss this, but we need to meet," Gideon said.
"No meeting, young Dr Reid shouldn't be left on his own. I don't want him to have another panic attack," Thomas told Gideon.
"Thomas, Reid need to go to the hospital, you have been watching him, am I correct?...you must know about Reid's condition," Gideon tried, he could sense Thomas wanting to end the conversation.
The line went dead, Gideon turned to see JJ and Hotch watching him.
"We got an address," Rossi called from the bullpen, Hotch glanced out across the bullpen everyone was wearing bullet proof vests and looking towards Rossi.
"Let's go," Gideon ordered.
"My team is going to find you," Reid mumbled, the effects of the medication was still running through his body messing with his mind and body.
"What your team will find isn't you," Thomas told Reid.
Thinking back, Reid closed his eyes and tried to remember a happy moment. He needed to separate himself for a few minutes, Reid needed to keep himself calm and this is the only way to do so in this environment.
Memory
It had been a week since Reid had been shot in the leg, he had really badly injured his knee and knew he was going to be on crutches for the next few months. He had just returned home from hospital, Hotch had agreed to stay at Reid's apartment for the next few weeks until Reid was able to do things for himself without too much hassle.
"You don't need to stay with me, I'm capable of taking care of myself," Reid told Hotch, sitting on his couch with his legs straight out in front of him.
"You are very much capable of taking care of myself, but you were told to relax and that is what you are going to do," Hotch told Reid.
"If you are here, can you please go get me a book from my library," Reid asked, he kind of wanted to sit in his library the chair in the library was so much more comfortable than the couch he was currently on.
Lifting Reid up into his arms, bridal style Hotch headed for Reid's library. Entering the room, Hotch gently set Reid down in the single chair, square in the middle of the room. With the help of Hotch, they slowly raised Reid's leg and set it on the foot rest. Smiling down at Reid, Hotch took the blanket that was resting it over the top of the chair, laying it over Reid he seemed happy with results.
"Would you like any books?" Hotch asked, he knew the answer already but he just had to ask.
"Yeah, can I have Ethics of Brain Surgery and the big thick book at the bottom of the stack at the end," Reid asked, the second book was easy to find, Hotch glanced at the title not knowing the long word across the front of the book.
Not able to find the second book, Reid pointed across the room and told him where to find it. Handing the two books to Reid, Hotch watched as Reid opened one of the books and began reading. Smiling he saw as Reid quickly turned the page his attention focused on the book as he read. Leaving Reid, Hotch entered the living room seeing Reid's crutches. Thinking about taking them in for Reid, Hotch decided not, he didn't want Reid wandering anywhere without him. If Reid wanted to go anywhere he would have to call and ask Hotch for assistance, he wanted to be able to take care of Reid and this is the way he was going to do it. A few hours past, Reid really needed to get up and go to the toilet. Calling for Hotch, Reid lowered his good leg to the floor and then with some difficulty he set his bad leg to the floor. Groaning with pain, Hotch entered the room looking at Reid.
"Do you need help?" Hotch asked, he helped Reid to his feet before scooping him up into his arms.
Holding Reid once again bridal style, Hotch held Reid in his arms as he gazed at Reid.
"I need to get to the toilet, will you please go get my crutches," Reid asked, his face flush with embarrassment.
Independent as Reid was, this felt so very humiliating he was having to ask Hotch to get his crutches so he could do such a simple, basic need. This made him feel like he was four years old and couldn't do anything for himself. Seeing the blush on Reid's face, Hotch smiled and carried Reid to the bathroom from his bedroom. Staring at Reid, he set Reid down on to his feet in front of the toilet, before leaving the room and closing the door behind him. Letting out a low sob, Reid leaned against the wall so embarrassed that he was being looked after by Hotch. He wasn't weak, Reid knew he was stronger than this, he didn't know how he was going to survive with Hotch living with him for the next few weeks. Quickly Reid went to the toilet, he hobbled over to the door pulled it open. Making his way to the bed, Reid sat down, putting his hands on his knee. The pain was so sore, he knew there was going to be a lot of pain, but didn't realise it was doing to be so bad.
"Are you okay?" Hotch asked, stepping back into the room.
"Yes, I'm fine, just sore," Reid asked, dating another profiler wasn't always the best especially when you were trying to keep something secret.
"Anything else?" Itachi questioned.
"Hotch, I..." Reid began, he didn't want to hurt Hotch's feelings.
"I'm being too caring," Hotch replied, he thought Reid was going to feel like this but he didn't think he would so quickly.
"I'm sorry, Hotch," Reid apologised.
"It is fine, Reid. You know I love you and just want to help you," Hotch told Reid, he just wanted to help Reid.
"Hotch, I want you to stay here to help me,. But I need freedom to do stupid stuff," Reid told Hotch.
"Stupid stuff?" Hotch questioned.
"Going to the toilet for an example," Reid replied.
Sitting down beside Reid, Hotch pulled him in for a hug kissing the top of his head. They made love to each other, for the most part of it Reid lay on his back and let Hotch do his thing. Knowing that he was in good hands, normally Reid would have attempted to take control of things. He like trying things all the time, Reid would explain it to him and then Hotch would help Reid implement what to wanted to do. Being in full control of Reid, Hotch got a chance to experiment with Reid's likes. Tossing his head back as he came, Reid hadn't so happy before.
End of Memory
Opening his eyes Reid felt his body curled up into a tight space, he was sitting up, but was unable to move to the sides. Looking up Reid knew straight away he was in the back of a car, sitting on the floor behind the driver's seat he was unable to move. For a second Reid didn't understand why he couldn't possibly get out from behind the seat. The seat must have been moved backwards after Reid had been placed there.
"Morning, young Reid," Thomas greeted, he was sat in the driver's seat.
Reid's eyes opened wide, he tried to get out from behind the chair, but as small as he was Reid was unable to get free.
"Why are you doing this?" Reid questioned, his head still having traces of drugs running through his system.
"We are going to meet up with mummy," Thomas answered.
Straight away Reid felt his heart consist painfully, his hands grasped at the material wanting to stop the pain. It was hours later, the car stopped and Reid was left alone for at least ten minutes. Hearing noises outside the car, the door behind Reid opened, someone grabbed him yanking him out of the car in one swift move. Being thrown on to the ground, Reid sat on the floor his body sore and numb from being kept in a small space for a long time.
"Spencer," Diana Reid shouted, running from the grasp of her kidnapper and to his son on the floor.
Kneeling down beside her son, Diana pulled Reid's head to her chest and hugged him close. Tears feel down Reid's cheeks as he felt safe in her arms. Feeling so safe and well being with his mum, Reid hugged her tighter not wanting anyone to take her away.
"Spencer, what is going on?" Diana asked, looking at her son with confusion.
We are going to be okay, mum," Reid told her, his voice shaking as he tried to stay sane and strong for his mum's sake.
"Take her away," Thomas ordered, staring at Thomas Reid's face was covered in fear.
"Please don't, don't touch her," Reid begged, his eyes being pulled from his grasp.
"Spencer, help me," Reid's mum screamed, fighting to get back to her son.
"Please...please Thomas, I will do anything. Anything I will do anything," Reid shouted, desperate to get to his mum.
Reid watched as his mum's kidnapper raised his hand and slapped his mum, feeling the pain in his chest Reid looked at Thomas tears in his eyes.
"Leave my mum alone, release her and I will get your parents out," Reid told Thomas.
Thomas dropped his phone on to Reid's hands, unsure what to do Reid looked up at Thomas with confusion.
"Call your team and arrange for my parents to get out of prison," Thomas ordered, immediately Reid dialled the number and waited for someone to answer.
"This is agent Hotch, is this Thomas?" Hotch questioned, answering the phone.
"Hotch, it's Reid...I need you to get his parents out of jail," Reid told Hotch.
"Reid, I can't do that," Hotch replied.
"He has my mum, Hotch. He is going to hurt my mum," Reid said, the fact that he was crying painfully obvious to Hotch.
"Reid, they died four years ago in prison," Hotch told Reid.
Reid was quick to let out a sob, tears strained his face as he glanced up at Thomas. Feeling the loss of the phone in his hand, Thomas had taken it from him and was speaking to Hotch.
"What did you just say?" Thomas growled.
"We can't release your parents," Hotch told Thomas, his voice shaking as he spoke.
"I don't care about all the red tape, just do it," Thomas ordered, hanging up.
"You are going to pay, useless boy," Thomas yelled, dragging Reid to his feet by his hair.
Reid was uneasy on his feet, his body not responding the way it should be. Slapping Reid across the face, Reid went to fall down but Thomas kept him on his feet. Hearing his mum's screams, Reid tried to get a look at his mum but Thomas was stopping him. Bring his fist up in an attempt to punch Thomas, his hand was caught before it made contact with Thomas's head.
"You will be punished for trying to hit me," Thomas growled, his fist slamming into Reid's cheek sending him to the ground.
"Thomas, do whatever you want to me," Reid growled, staring up at Thomas, his head hurting and vision blurry.
Dragging Reid to his knees, Thomas stared Reid right in the eyes scaring the much younger boy.
"What did you say?" Thomas questioned, he stared at his eyes happy that Reid was scared of him.
"Your parents are dead, they died four years ago," Reid replied, his hands grabbed at Thomas's wrists to relieve the pain.
"You lie, you will be punished for this as well," Thomas shouted, Reid was once again lying on the floor.
Standing over Reid, Thomas stared at Reid, whiling watching as the other man dealt with Reid's mum. Hearing the screams from his mum, Reid jerked his head in his mum's direction. Again and again the man punched, her over and over again. Not having enough control over his body to move, Reid sat staring at his mum, watching as the guy beat her over and over. Crying for his mum, Reid begged and begged for his mother to stop being beaten.
"Pleases stop," Reid screamed, Thomas knelt down beside him and covered Reid's mouth with his hand.
Tears fell down Reid's face, falling on to Thomas's hand as he stared at his mother the guilt taking over. Feeling a sharp pain radiating through his heart, Reid fought against Thomas not having enough physical strength in his body to get out of Thomas's grasp.
"Mum, Reid screamed, against Thomas's hand.
Back in the city, the BAU with a squad team stormed a small apartment building, heading straight to the basement. Storming into the large open plan basement, it was completely empty apart from a note laying on the floor. Picking up the note, Rossi read it and turned to his team.
"He never brought Reid here," Rossi told everyone, leaving the building.
The members of the BAU stood in a circle outside in the street, Hotch listened as Gideon and Rossi addressed the team.
"By now Reid is no longer in the city, Reid knows and Thomas probably knows as well that his parents are dead. As far as we know Reid's mum is possibly with Reid right now. he won't kill Reid, but he will kill his mum to get what he wants, we can't afford to let Thomas do anything to either Reid or his mum," Rossi said.
"Pass me, Reid's phone, I'm going to call him again, see what his reaction to his parents death if he knows," Gideon replied, taking the phone from Emily.
Redialling Thomas's number, he held the phone to his ear and waited for the phone to ring. As the phone was answered, all Gideon heard was Reid's muffled screams in the background. Waiting for an answer, Gideon grew extremely worried about the youngest member of the team.
"I apologise, I'm very busy," Thomas said, finally speaking.
"Thomas, release Reid and his mum," Gideon ordered.
"Reid, is the key to my parents getting out of jail, he dared to lie to me. Spencer Reid had to be punished for not behaving," Thomas answered, Reid had become quiet in the background.
Every now and then Gideon could hear Reid let out a low sob every so often.
"Reid, is normally well behaved, what did he do?" Gideon asked, knowing that the longer he kept Thomas talking the more time he would keep Thomas away from Reid.
"He lied, he tried to hurt me and he refused to release my parents. Not to worry his mum was punished for it," Thomas answered, his hand wrapped in Reid's hair stopping him from leaving his side.
Reid's eyes were pinned on his mum, lying on the floor not moving. Hoping to see her move at least once, Reid couldn't pull his gaze from her. All his other senses, seemed to be shut down, he ignored everything around him focusing just on his mum.
"He was always so well behaved when he is with us," Gideon said.
"Your rules aren't strict enough, young Spencer Reid needs strict rules and that is what I give him," Thomas told Gideon, before hanging up his phone.
Hearing the line go dead, Gideon pulled Reid's phone from his ear and stared down at the device. The sound of Reid's screaming repeated over and over in his head; Gideon couldn't remember a time when the boy had sounded so afraid and scared. Turning back to the team, Gideon kept his expressions blank. In his mind, Gideon just couldn't get the sound to leave him, all his thoughts were on what Thomas could be doing to Reid.
"Where are Thomas's parents?" Gideon questioned.
"Probably buried somewhere, if their bodies weren't claimed then they would have been buried in the prison cemetery," Morgan asked, partly confused as to why Gideon was asking.
"JJ, can you find out from Garcia," Gideon asked.
"Already on it," JJ answered, already holding her phone to her ear.
JJ took a step away from the group.
"JJ, the call line just received a hit. A man matching Thomas's description was seen turning off the highway heading for a cottage up in the mountains," Garcia told JJ.
"Directions?" JJ questioned.
"I will send them as soon as I find the place...sending now, why is it you called?" Garcia asked.
"Where are Thomas's parents?" JJ asked, hoping Garcia would know.
"They are buried in the...prison cemetery, plot 456," Garcia told JJ, leaning back in her seat quite proud of herself.
"Thank you, Garcia," JJ replied, lowering her phone from her ear and looking at the map across her screen.
The rest of the team received the map at the same time, JJ stepped back up to the group, they all looked at her expecting an explanation.
"The hotline received a hit, a woman saw Thomas driving down the side road to this house. The house is secluded and well out of the way, Thomas would have freedom to do whatever he wants," JJ told the rest of the team.
"Let's go," Rossi told everyone, leaving the group to inform the squad team where they were going.
Climbing in the car, the teams where off their lights and sirens on heading for the house outside the city bounds. It took hours until they were about to turn on the road leading up to the house.
"Reid, guess who is headed up here," Thomas said, turning to Reid.
Alone in a large room with Thomas, Reid's hands were handcuffed to the metal pipe that ran up the side of the room. Shivering from the cold, Reid's eyes were sore from crying, he leaned against the wall. His eyes open parted slightly as he watched Thomas standing at the window. Opening his mouth, Reid wanted to say something to Thomas but didn't want his mum to be punished again.
"Spencer, you are being really quiet. Why don't you tell me how you are feeling, young Spencer Reid?" Thomas whispered, kneeling down in front of Reid to look closer at his face.
Tilting Reid's head, so that Thomas had a better look at his face. Staring straight at Reid, Thomas could see the trails from the dry tears running down his face. Opening his eyes wide, Reid stared at Thomas his body shaking from the cold air around him.
"I'm worried about my mum, I have a sick feeling in my stomach..." Reid told Thomas, not knowing what else to say to him.
"A key shouldn't have a weakness, your mum should be killed to make you stronger," Thomas told Reid, physically Reid began to shake not knowing what to do.
"Please don't hurt my mum, she is the only family I have left," Reid whispered, hoping that he wasn't going to anger Thomas.
"I won't kill your mum, but your own team might," Thomas answered, standing up and returning to the window.
The two black vehicles neared the house, stopping not far from the entrance, the BAU stepped from SUV, while the squat team stayed in the van. Slowly Gideon made his way up his stairs and knocked on the door. A muffled scream was heard from inside, knowing what to do Gideon pulled out his gun and kicked the door in.
"Stop," Gideon shouted, just before he shot Gideon heard a muffled cry before he lowered his gun.
A body crashing into Gideon, knowing straight away that it was Diana he wrapped her arm around her before guiding her out of the house.
"Find Reid," Gideon told Rossi, leaving the house with Reid's mum.
Sitting Diana down in the back of the car, she was shaking as she stared forwards at the house. Shots were heard from inside, Gideon stood in the way before Diana could leave the car. Wanting to cry out, Diana had tears running down his face as she watched the house. Inside Morgan and JJ stood over an unsubs body, Morgan had let out the first shot and then JJ had shot a second later.
"Where is Spencer, where is my boy?" Diana whispered, Gideon didn't know what to tell the woman he didn't know what to say.
Clicking on the light of the car, Gideon saw the burises covering Diana's face, neck and arms.
"Diana, did they hurt you?" Gideon asked uncertain, worried that Diana may have further injuries that were a lot worse.
"I will be fine, you need to help, Reid," Diana whispered.
"Have you got any serious injuries?" Gideon asked, knowing from the injuries he could see that she must have many more.
Outside the house in the backyard, Thomas stood silently in the cover of a bunch of trees. He could see the lights inside the house, watching as the lights went up to the second floor, Thomas turned and headed further into the bush. Reaching a large four wheel drive vehicle, Thomas climbed into the driver's seat and turned round to face the backseat. Seeing Reid, lying in the back across the backseat, Thomas couldn't help but smile.
"You look so peaceful when you are resting, Spencer Reid," Thomas whispered to the sleeping Reid.
Starting the car, Thomas knew if Reid woke he wouldn't be able to move very much. Reid's hands were restrained to the back of the passenger seat, his feet and knees were strapped together through the use of two belts. Heading away from the house, Thomas kept the lights off and went slow trying to navigate his way out o the forest. Not able to see too far ahead, the vehicle went over large bumps and into small holes. Finding it hard to see, the vehicle jerked to a quick stop before stopping completely, Thomas tried to reverse but the car was stuck.
"Shit, shit...shit, shit," Thomas swore, hitting the steering wheel.
"Ah...Thomas?" Reid groaned, his eyes opening as he came to.
"Stay quiet, Spencer or you will be punished," Thomas warned, the anger clear as he spoke.
Wanting to ask so many questions, Reid fought to remain quiet and wait to see what the man was going to do. He laid on the seat, wanting to return to the house, to his mother. Tears ran down his face, Reid turned to face closer to the seat and tried to stop everything for happening to. Shifting on the seat, Reid heard sirens in the distance.
"We are going to walk," Thomas told Reid, getting out of the car Thomas was quick to open the back door of the car and pulled Reid out of the car and into his arms.
Reid's feet touched the floor, Thomas held his arms staring straight at him. Crouching down right in front of Reid, Thomas undid the belts. Shifting backwards, Reid leaned against the car as the restrains feel around his ankles. Standing up, Thomas grabbed one of Reid's cuffed wrists and pulled him alone from him. Watching to call out, Reid followed Thomas away from the house and away from his mum and now his team.
"Hurry up, Spencer," Thomas ordered.
Inside the house, Hotch stopped on the second floor, the house was clear now with no sight of Thomas or Spencer. Standing at the back facing the window, Hotch stared at the distance hoping that he was going to be okay, realising that there was a light in the distance. Almost instantly, Hotch was running down the stairs and out the back of the house. Morgan and Rossi were straight after him, followed by a couple of squad members.
"I want my parents out of prison, you will help me whatever the costs," Thomas said, forcing Reid to step forwards.
"Thomas, they died. I can prove it," Reid replied, the anger on Thomas's face spreading to all his features.
"Spencer," Hotch yelled, Reid turned to look behind him to see Hotch running towards him.
Thomas yanked Reid forwards, pulling back against Thomas. Hotch was gaining on them quick, passing Reid, Hotch leapt straight on to Thomas pinning him down to the ground, Reid feel down to the ground with Thomas and Hotch. Scrambling backwards, Rossi and Morgan helped Reid to his feet, before Morgan left his side to restrain Thomas with Hotch.
"My mum, where is my mum?" Reid asked, almost in tears as he worried for his mum.
"She is safe, Gideon is looking after her," Rossi told Reid, smiling weakly Reid collapsed.
Being caught by Rossi, Morgan held Thomas down with his hands cuffed behind his back and sent Hotch to help Reid. Kneeling down beside Rossi and Reid, Hotch stared at the unconscious boy in Rossi's arms. Unsure if he wanted to take Reid from Rossi, he didn't have a choice to decide because Rossi passed Reid to him.
"Stay with Reid," Rossi ordered; glancing up to see the squad team leading Thomas back towards the house, Morgan watched as they disappeared in the trees.
Looking past Rossi, he was standing to the side away from Reid and Hotch. Morgan's eyes feel on Reid lying in Hotch's arms; opening his eyes wider Morgan couldn't believe that Reid was safe. Stepping up beside Rossi, Morgan smiled at Rossi happy that they had found him safe and well. Tears fell down Hotch's face as he hugged Reid to his chest, feeling Reid's hands returning the hug he held on tighter. Opening his mouth to speak to Reid, the boy pulled back and stared at Hotch a small smile on his face.
"Thank you, Hotch," Reid whispered.
"You're welcome, Dr Reid," Hotch replied.
Slowly Reid got to his feet, Reid was unable to stand on his own. Stepping up to Hotch and Reid, Morgan looked at Hotch to check if he was okay with what he was going to do.
"Reid, I'm going to carry you back to the car," Morgan told Reid, looking back at Morgan he nodded.
Morgan picked Reid up in his arms bridal style, Reid's arms were still cuffed together. Heading back towards the house and car, Morgan kept a tight hold on Reid as they walked through the trees. Reaching the cars, Rossi opened a car door and let Morgan set Reid down inside the car.
"Mum," Reid whispered, wrapping his arms around his mum and hugging her gently afraid of her injuries getting more hurt by him.
"Are you okay?" Reid asked, Diana smiled at her son.
"Spencer, I'm your mother I will always be okay," Diana replied.
Waking up to the sound of people talking, Reid opened his eyes and looked out at Hotch's office. Sitting at his desk, Hotch was speaking with JJ standing in front of his desk. Sitting up on the couch, Hotch and JJ turned to see Reid. Leaning his head on his hand, Reid looked at the two people watching him.
"Did I fall asleep again on the couch?" Reid questioned, knowing that he had fallen asleep but really didn't want to admit it.
"Yes, we have a case so you can sleep on the plane," Hotch told Reid, ever since Reid had returned all Reid wanted to do was sleep, the drugs had worn out of his system days ago and ever since Reid had came off the drugs he was exhausted. Hotch knew this was because he wasn't sleeping, his mum had been in hospital for a week, before she was released, Diana had stayed at Reid's apartment with him, until three days ago when she returned to Bennington Sanatorium. Reid had returned to work the next day, he had been really busy. But over the last two weeks he had done everything except rest, Hotch had been keeping a closer eye on him. The afternoon before Reid had been explaining something about physics or maths, when Reid had nodded off. Hotch had ended staying the night in his office with Reid, the younger male had slept all night. On the plane Reid slept, he curled up on a chair and was asleep within a matter of seconds.
"I think I prefer him asleep," Emily told everyone, sitting at the opposite end of the plane keeping their voices quiet.
"Really, I like it when he goes on and on and on, about something I don't even need to know how to spell," Morgan jerked, Hotch remained quiet he loved Reid so much where he was quiet or talking.
"What do you think, Hotch?" Rossi asked, seeing the man's smile.
"I love him, whatever happens or whatever he does," Hotch answered, not really paying attention just mainly focusing on Reid.
