Hey everyone, I'm back after three years. Though I have been away for long, my passion to create has never changed. The writing style though will be much more mature than my previous works. Thanks and enjoy the story!
No POV
It was another great summer day, and Phineas was making some cereal in the kitchen. What he really wanted after so many days of fun, was a little way to relax.
"Phineas," piped his mother, who was passing him by. "Could you post this letter for me? I need to get to the office early today." Phineas immediately lit up. "Sure, Mom. Who's it for?"
"Oh, just a friend from overseas. We met during work and we actually share a lot in common, so we write to each other from time to time, just to catch up," She explained. Phineas glanced briefly at the address. "Gee, Mom, not many people write letters anymore."
"Hey, that's what pen pals are for, right?" She headed out the door. "Maybe you could try it sometime."
Phineas popped his head around the corner to see Ferb dressed in a blue dress and a crown with gloves next to Perry in a snowman costume. "Ferb, cancel the giant ice castle idea. I know what we're going to do today!"
Ferb tossed aside the dress only to see Perry gone. "Well..." he muttered. "I can't believe I let him go."
Elsewhere, Isabella was cooped up in her own room, holding a small framed photo of Phineas in her hand. In her heart, she knew that she could tell Phineas how she had felt about him all this time. But something told her that if she didn't truly put all of her heart into it at the right time, there would be no way Phineas would ever accept her advances.
But how? She wondered. He only cares about what he wants to do. It's not enough that I show him I care. I need to tell him, one way or another.
"Isabella!"
Isabella quickly hid the photo and looked outside, where Phineas was waving madly.
"Come on out! The gang's all here!"
Within minutes, Isabella adjusted her bow and straightened her pink outfit and was right outside Phineas' house, where a large supercomputer operated by Ferb was printing out a long sheet of paper, as everyone huddled around the giant screen.
Isabella watched as the names of everyone in Danville was being listed on the screen, and was then shuffled around. "So, uh…watcha doin'?" she asked.
Phineas turned around. "We're doing a pen pal program. We're sending letters out to everyone in Danville to let them know that they have a very special person they can write to on their own. That way, everyone can have nice little notes written just for them!"
"Sounds like a great idea!" Isabella crooned with delight.
"Ehh…I'm not one for letters." Buford blurted. "Weren't we supposed to do the ice castle today?"
"Come on Buford, it'll be fun." Phineas assured. "Right now, we're just assigning nicknames to everyone so that it can be a little mystery for everyone to figure out who's writing to you." With his last words, the machine had finished slipping each small slip of paper into envelopes and sorting them neatly into piles.
"The most fun part comes next." Phineas said as he ran towards the pile of letters. "We can even get Perry to help us. Hey, where is he anyway?"
Earlier, Perry had inched around the nearest corner and leaped into the secret dustbin entrance, and was now in his usual chair in front of his monitor.
"Ah there you are, Agent P." Major Monogram began. "Doofenshirmtz has…sent us a letter for you." He flipped the paper around. "Uh….dear Perry the Playtpus, I have learnt that everyone has been able to foil my evil schemes, because they've all been able to understand everything I'm saying. So I have designed an unbreakable written code, so no one will be able to understand me, and I can carry out my plans in secret to rule the Tri-State-Area! For starters, I have placed below here some very naughty words about Major Monogram's mother…hey!"
He showed Agent P the code, which simply looked like a child's scribbles. "He can't do this to me! Carl! Find out what this code means at once!" As they both stared at the paper, they glanced up for a second at Perry.
"Uh…go stop…whatever he's doing now then, Agent P. We're busy."
Reluctantly, Perry strapped himself to his jetpack and soared off into the sky to meet his foe once again.
Back in the backyard, everyone was holstered on their bicycles at the ready, with all the envelopes tucked into their baskets.
"These homing air cannons will launch these bad boys to where they need to go. Alright gang, it's time to deliver!"
Just like that, they went off as the letters soared around. Flying through the open air and trees, and ever so lightly tucking into the mail slots of others.
Though Isabella was having fun, she was still deep in thought over her musings that morning. Soon, Isabella was down to just her last letter. Oddly enough, she noticed that the seal had slightly worn off. Curious, she read the paper inside and found the username.
Belonging to Phineas.
This could be my only chance, she thought. Carefully, she disposed of the letter nearby and pedalled back to the house.
Isabella had never been so determined before, and she knew that no matter what, this was one pen pal that Phineas would never forget.
