The Vault of Glass, the legendary challenge. The call to arms for all powerful Guardians. The appeal of treasure and rewards was enough to make all of the City buzz with whispers. ''Have you heard of the latest team?'' or ''They say that they tried,''. Well, we were the topic of a large number of those whispers, and for good reason; we succeeded.
My Ghost is recording my retelling of our events, and will fill in any details that I miss or remember wrong, so, now let me begin by introducing my team.
I am Theos-9 an Exo Hunter. I've fought the darkness on everyone of humanity's planets, including Mercury. God Mercury was horrible, but it wasn't as bad as the goddamned Vault.
There was Skreal, an Awoken Titan, now that's something you don't see often, you normally see Light-blooded Hunters or Warlocks. He didn't talk much, but he saved us more than a few times.
A famous face you've most likely heard of was Cayde-6, the Exo Hunter Vanguard. After much pleading, the Speaker allowed him to join us in the field, and I was damn happy to have another Exo, especially him.
Yeval was our Awoken Warlock, he needed a bit of a push to get going, being the least experienced out of us, but I was glad to have him with us.
A personal friend of mine, Kalen was a Human Hunter. Very zealous in the face of adventure and danger, he made sure we all kept our hopes up, no matter what.
Last was Grayson. A Human Titan, who had lost an entire team to the challenges of the Vault. He was determined to have each of us come out alive this time.
With our team assembled, we met at the Tower, to gather supplies we would need for this grand challenge.
''Guys hold up. Speaker's letting me come.'' said Cayde as he ran up to us, Hand Cannon sitting on his hip.
''Well that's great, I can't imagine how much of a help a Vanguard will be.'' I said, patting him on the shoulder. Yeval came up beside us.
''What supplies do I need?'' he asked.
''Ammo Synthesis, a lot of it'' said Cayde. I gave him a friendly punch in the shoulder.
''Hey, lets not forget who's running this op.'' I said. Cayde and I laughed. Grayson walked up to the rest of us.
'' Everyone ready for this? We won't be returning here until we claim our rewards.'' he asked. Everyone nodded or otherwise affirmed.
''Alright everyone, let's head to Venus.'' With that, everyone transmatted to their ships and began their translight jump to the Ishtar Sink.
''Our first objective is to hold the three Sync Plates long enough to form a Spire that will open the entrance. I recommend three teams of two, on team on each Plate.'' explained Grayson as we flew.
''Alright, Grayson and Cayde take the right Plate. Skreal and Yeval, you two will hold the center. Kalen and myself will hold the left Plate.,'' I ordered. Our ships exited jump and we approached the Spire plateau.
''Good luck everyone.''
