Rin looked through his fringe at the phone in his palm, wondering whether or not to call Haru. They hadn't talked in 2 weeks due to their argument, and Rin missed him. After keeping their relationship a secret Rin needed to talk to someone.
He quickly dialled the number and held the phone up to his ear before he could regret it. After the phone ringing for what seemed forever, Haru reluctantly answered and agreed to meet outside Rin's house.
...
"Hey" spoke Haru awkwardly, not his usual confident self.
"Haru, I'm so sorry, we should never had foug-" Rin was cut off as Haru stepped forward and wrapped his arms round his shoulders. Rin melted into the hug, relieved that he was forgiven.
"It doesn't matter, I'm sorry that I overreacted. Can we forget about it?" Haru mumbled, his mouth was muffled by Rin's shoulder.
Rin nodded, his arms squeezed around Haru's torso. When they finally parted, they entwined their fingers and wandered down the pavement, Haru's head still rested against Rin's shoulder.
"How've you been Rin?" asked Haru.
"I missed you Haru, and I'm so sorry-"
"Rin, I said to forget it."
"I know, I'm just... sorry". There was a silence as the two teenagers walked side by side, then Rin breathed in as if to say something, whilst Haru did the same, which caused a slight awkwardness between them.
"You go first." prompted Haru.
"I don't think we can keep us a secret anymore, I want everyone to know you're my boyfriend Haru," exclaimed Rin, looking hopefully at Haru to see whether he would agree.
"I don't know, I just... I'm still..." Haru sighs and silence falls.
Rin knew that approaching this subject again would be difficult, especially due to Haru being self conscious about his sexuality. Rin stopped walking, and Haru turned to face him, his hands resting in his pockets, head faced to the floor.
"It's fine, we can take it slow," started Rin. "I just want to let you know that I'm here for you."
"I know you'll always be there, Rin," replied Haru, smiling.
They linked hands, and carried on strolling, ending up sitting down amongst the grass in a park.
Haru then leaned back onto the ground, closing his eyes. Rin looked at him questioning, "Haru, what are you doing?"
"I am... I'm just trying to remember this moment. Being with you, Rin - it's just." He pauses, and then continues, "you could do so much better than me."
Rin then leans back onto the floor against Haru, and they both turn onto their sides, looking each other in the eye.
"I love you Haru, you know that, and I only want you. No one else - just you." Rin then leans forward and presses his lips softly to Haru, who, at first startled, relaxes into the gentle kiss, and presses into Rin. They part and slowly open their eyes, smiling at the other.
"I love you"
"I love you too"
