He wore a mask over his face and a ponytail in his hair. Both objects were forest green with Celtic knots and golden serpents. There was a strange cape-like thing attached to his robes. He was dressed in red, black, green and silver. His gloves were like spider's silk without the eight legged creatures that created it. His hair was like cashmere, so soft and supple, and it was blonde. Oh, how it was blonde. It was so blonde that it was almost a silver white. And though he was garbed so dark, he seemed to glow.

She wore a mask of crimson upon her face and a bandana upon her chocolate hair. Both the mask and bandana seemed to have been dipped in silver symbols-almost representing the man she has so carefully observed. Her dress was white and red with green and gold details that stood out boldly. Her hands had no gloves, but instead her ivory flesh, taut and gentle donned three delicate and shining rings, each one glittering on her skin. She was so light that her darkness was blinding.

It was incredible how different they were from one another. How much still stood in their way despite the disguises meant to fool was not lost to them. They were opposite but similar. Different but so very much the same.

Slytherin and Gryffindor.

Soon to be member of Voldemort's Deatheaters and soon to be a member of Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix.

Dark and light. Light and Dark.

Malfoy and granger.

Draco and Hermione.

No matter how you said it, it sounded right and wrong….good and bad. No matter what you thought of it, it was pure and tainted…innocent and defiled. It was disgusting and yet, it was the sweetest sugar known to all.

The head boy and head-girl were opposites, but….were they really different?
