Sarabi walked solemnly towards mufasas trampled corpse. Tears filled her eyes as she had realised the rumours were true... Her husband was dead. She heard the pained screams from her son Simba in the distance and she sighed. She called for her cub but simba didn't answer and before she knew it he was gone. All that was left was her and the dead body of the once called King of Pride Rock. She throbbed. Traumatised by the sight of the dead body, she was used to seeing dead antelope but this... This was different. Tears continued to roll down her cheek and through her fur. Sarabi began to walk closer, she lied next to mufasas lifeless pulled herself up and placed her paws on his chest, she kissed him, and she moved her paws down his torso. As she move down she realised what she was doing was wrong, but she kept going. Her claws entwined into his main and she began to cry further. She climbed over him and pressed herself against his body, it felt good but not as good as it used to. She hated and loved what she was doing in the same sense. It was necrophilia and it was wrong. But no one had to find out.

an hour had passed after the event with sarabi and mufasa. the other lionesses were beginning to wonder where she was. sarabi stayed by mufasas side all night and the other lions began a lookout. at this stage scar had already told everyone about mufasas death and grief rang throughout pride rock. the invasion of the hyenas was about to begin. the following morning sarabi returned to the other lionesses she found sarafina, nalas mum, waiting for her on a rock cleaning her cub. sarabi knew they would ask where she had been, but there were no questions, no one tried to figure it out, they just assumed she was in grief. in a way she had been, in her own kind of way. she lied down beside sarafina."where is simba?" she asked. nala hesitated before replying"no one has seen him and scar said he was... um.. scar said he was d.. d.. dead" she shuddered in her speech and tears welled up in her eyes again" he was my best friend" she continued. nala was trying to stay tough but she just couldn't, she huddled back up to her mother and lied there almost silently but you would occasionally hear a sob or two from her direction. the three lionesses stayed silent for the rest of the night, as the sun set and the adult lionesses began to sleep nala crept away.

she went to the elephant grave yard, the last place she has seen simba. she imagined him there right with her and it felt so real. it had only been yesterday that he had disappeared but nala wouldn't bring herself to believe it.
