Light sat with the bowl of treats to his left and L to his right. L of course wanted the candy and naturally reached for it. His foot got caught on his jeans he fell right into Lights lap. Light looked down and L looked up. The two stared at each other for an awkward moment before L sat up.
"Sorry Light could you pass the candy?"
Light said nothing and just passed the candy. Five minutes passed and half the bowl was gone. Light stared at L and calmly asked, "Ryuzaki I know you have explained it before, but why do you eat all that candy?"
"That's simple: because I like it. Maybe you should try some," L replied.
"No thanks," Light said.
After about another three minutes Light grabbed a sucker from the bowl. L turned and watched him unwrap the wrapper and stick it into his mouth to notice it was the new flavor.
"Hey don't eat that one."
"Why not?" asked Light.
"That's the newest flavor. I wanted to stir my tea with it." (Death Note the movie reference)
Light, ignoring the weird comment, said, "Sorry."
"Can I have it?" L asked.
"I have already sucked on it," Light said.
"So? I know you have no diseases; I have seen all your medical records."
Light, ignoring the stalker comment, said, "Well it's like a kiss."
"No, this is a kiss," L said, leaning forward on the balls of his feet and kissing Light gently on the lips.
Light pulled his sucker out of his mouth and asked, "What the heck?"
L grabbed the sucker and stuck it in his mouth and smiled.
"That's not fair," Light said glaring at L.
"No, I used my brain. Why don't you use yours Light? Try to get it back," L teased.
Light grinned and leaned forward kissing L. He forced the detectives' mouth open and stole the sucker with his tongue.
"Got it," Light said.
"Just as I thought. I am 5% more sure you are Kira."
"What do you mean Ryuzaki? What did I do to make you think that?"
"Well, Kira would want to beat me at anything even when it comes to a sucker. He would also go to any length to get it which, for an example, would be you kissing me."
"You told me to use my brain and I did. I am clearly the better kisser," Light said.
"How do you know that?" L asked.
"I just do. I mean you have never really been in public that long."
"Arguing. That's another 2%," L said.
"Stop that! I mean, how do you know I just did not want to kiss you!" Light yelled.
"Covering it up. Another 3%."
"Shut up," Light screamed grabbing L shoulders and pulling him into a kiss.
"I am 50% sure you wanted to kiss and 50% sure that was still a cover up," L said.
Light said nothing just pulled him closer and kissed him passionately.
"I wanted to" he said softly after he broke.
L smiled and said, "I am pretty convinced but not sure yet."
Light smiled and said, "I can convince you later after we solve this case."
The two turned back to their computers, silent. They kept their relationship hidden from the world.
