Hong Kong sat down under a Japanese cherry blossom tree, the petals falling so slowly and beautifully into the creek in front of him. He smiled, the sight was very enchanting, and peaceful, as well. He was so drawn into the peace, he didn't hear Japan come up behind him. He just sat there, letting pale pink petals fall onto and around him. Japan smiled, sitting down next to Hong Kong. He enjoyed the silence, as well, as the other country didn't know he wasn't alone.
Hong Kong finally turned to see Japan, who was holding a branch with cherry blossoms attached to it. The sun shone through the trees, the warm light beaming onto the pale country. His skin was like milky porcelain with a bit of a blush, as pink as the flowers. He smiled very slightly, "Why are you staring at me like that, Hong Kong?" His eyes went wide.
"Sorry, the flowers. They were so pretty, they made me space out." He smiled and blushed nervously. He picked a weak branch of cherry blossoms off a tree, then put it behind Japan's ear.
"What are you doing?" Japan asked, as he then felt the branch.
"It's nice on you." Hong Kong forced a small smile on his face, then pointed to one of Japan's cheeks. "They're the same color as the flowers."
They stared at each other in silence for a bit, until Japan then lead Hong Kong over to a small garden of red cherry blossoms.
"These are very special. They only grow every one hundred years. They stay in bloom the whole year." Japan said, taking a branch off and giving it to Hong Kong. "It's the perfect color for you."
Hong Kong tried to conceal the blush on his face. "Is something wrong?" Japan extended one of his hands. He looked up, shaking his head.
"No, it's my stomach..." He said, clutching his stomach with one hand.
"Oh...well, I could get some tea to settle your stomach." Japan offered.
He agreed, and they went into his house. As Hong Kong sat at the low table, he stared at the red cherry blossom. It was so unique, just for him.
He then smelled it, the faint smell foral and sweet. He tucked it into his shirt a bit, hoping it looked nice.
Japan came back with a pot of green tea and two cups, smiling faintly. "Here you go, Hong Kong." He set it on the low table, sitting down on his knees.
He nodded thank you, then took one of the cups, sipping slowly and silently from it. They talked a bit about other countries, or their own. Then, all of the sudden Japan asked "Are you involved with any of the countries. You know...romantically?"
Hong Kong looked down, shaking slightly. His stomach did flips as he tried to think of the right words. "Well, not really...but, I am interested in a country." He smiled as he took a small envelope out of his shirt.
It had "To Japan" written on it. He put the envelope on the table, sliding it slowly toward Japan. "Read it, please."
The other country opened it and read the note inside.
Cute smile of yours
I crave for your soft and sweet lips.
May I kiss you, please?*

Japan blushed, staring at Hong Kong. He blushed, then leaned a bit forward. Hong Kong leaned in too, sharing a small kiss with Japan. After the kiss that lasted for shorter than it actually was, they smiled at each other, blushing. They reached their hands across the table, Hong Kong with the red cherry blossom in his hand, and Japan with the pink one in his own.
