PEETA'S POV
I am lying in the cave with Katniss. She looks beautiful. Even more beautiful up close and not in a dream... out of pity she kisses me on my cheek. she didn't feel like she had to. I wonder why she would do it for no particular reason... My thoughts are interrupted-
We get a sponsor which flies and lands outside the cave. No wait... Maybe Katniss did.
She returns...
"What is it?" I ask curiously.
"soup" she replies.
I'm upset that I didn't get medicine. Oh well.. Soup will do.
She feeds me the soup. It feels more tastier while she's feeding me. "That's nice" I say after tasting it.
i realise that it is time to explain my feelings to her...
maybe not...
no i have to...
I keep arguing with myself and finally come to a conclusion...
I'll go for it...
she makes it easier by saying "you fed me once"
"I think about that all the time" I reply. "How I tossed you that bread" I continued.
"Peeta" she tries to interrupt, but I don't allow her. I cut her off again.
"I should have gone to you, I should have just gone out in the rain" I say more firmly.
"shhhhhh" she consoles me. She checks my forehead. "You feel hot"?
i dont want her to change the topic. I continue.
"I remember the first time I saw you" I say with a slight smile remembering her.
"Your hair was in two braids instead of one" I say smiling.
"I remember when you... When you sang in the music assembly the teacher said 'who knows the pie song? And your hand just shot straight up".
"after that.." I continued. "I watched you go home everyday..EVERYDAY" I emphasise but not in a rude way. She does not reply. I encourage her..
"Well? Say something.." I ask.
"I am not good at saying something" she replies. I feel like cuddling her. I hope she grants me my wish. I ask..
"then come here" I say. "Please..."
She lies on my chest.
"Even if I don't make it.." I try to talk.
"Shhhhhh" she says.
i blink of a few times and finally fall asleep with the thought of katniss in my arms.
Then an announcement interrupts our nap. They say that there will be a feast in the cornucopia and that each if us need something desperately. I knew it would be medicine for me. And I certainly knew what katniss was going to do. SHIT!
I try to tell her by saying " you're not going" but she just doesn't budge!
"you would do it for me wouldn't you?" She asks. I can't defend that point.
"katniss why are you doing this?" I then... It happens. She leans down and kisses me. I feel this electricity in my skin this thing that makes me feel alive. I lean forward trying to reach towards her lips. I wish the moment would never end. The moment where I actually kissed the girl on fire.
The moment that I would never forget in my whole entire life...
