It was over. Everything was gone. Family, friends obliterated. One more minute, she had needed one more minute, just one more. She had failed. There was no price to pay, no court martial, no piper to answer to. They were gone, everyone, because of her mistake.
There were no words to describe the feeling, sick? Empty? Guilty? Nothing did it justice.
The answer had come to her seconds to late, as she watched from above as the world was destroyed knowing she could have saved it if she had had a few more seconds.
They'd had faith in her, Jack, Daniel, Teal'c, Cassie, Janet Hammond…those names haunted her. Sleep didn't come neither did the tears. How could they she was empty, broken. What was the punishment for the murderer of 7 billion people? Death seemed too easy a way out. There was no punishment she could think of that would justify what she had done.
She was alone in the galaxy, the last of the Tau'ri and even as she thought of the destruction of earth she marvelled at the ease. 7 billion lives human lives without counting the animals had taken 3 seconds to wipe out. The Stargate had been supercharged and had exploded. Thor had come by beaming her up they had been working together to find a solution, one that come too late.
Now earth was gone, an asteroid field where there was once a lush, life filled planet.
Thor had expressed his sympathy leaving her sat by the window in shock even the beauty of the hyper drive meant nothing. Earth was gone, the SGC was gone. No funerals, no last words, nothing just gone.
The Gou'ld had won.
