One summer afternoon at the Dragonfly Inn Lorelai and April are behind the front desk and Lorelai is showing and teaching April how to book and take reservation's and put information into thier computer when Mia walk's in.
''Look at this place!'' Mia says in a shocked and amazed tone
Lorelai looks up ''Mia!'' she says and comes out from behind the desk to give her a huge hug.
''oh my baby how are you let me take a look at you. Mia looks her up and down ''too grown up but too beautiful as usual.'' Mia tells her
''wow so this is great what are you doing here?'' Lorelai asks her
''back in town for a visit where's Rory she's not here with you this summer what is she up to this summer any big plans?'' Mia asks her
''No and No Rory is..well Rory just graduated from Yale and actucally she is engaged and she and her fianc'e are actucally looking for a place in California for the summer before they settle down and Rory start's her new big job on the Barack Obama Presidental Campaign Trail in the fall.'' Lorelai tells her
''wow that's big that's a huge job.'' Mia says
''yea it is it really is she is going to be a reporter.'' Lorelai tells her
''that's so great good for her.'' Mia says
''yea I'm so proud of her she's worked so hard and really deserves this once in a life time opportunity to do this.'' Lorelai tells he
''so where in California are they looking in California to live?'' Mia asks her
''oh Palo Alto.'' Lorelai tells her
''oh so not too far from Santa Barbra.'' Mia says
''no not too.'' Lorelai says
''so is it the boyfriend from the wedding?'' Mia asks her
''it is that's the one yea.'' Lorelai tells her
''so are you happy with this engagement?' Mia asks her
''no not really but I'm happy if Rory is happy and I think that she is very happy so I have to be happy for her and for them.'' Lorelai tells her
''so who is that little girl behind the desk?'' Mia asks her
''oh that's April she's Luke's daughter.'' Lorelai tells her
''oh really Luke has a daughter?'' Mia asks her
''yup her name is April Nardini soon to be Nardini-Danes when Luke and I finally decide to get married.'' Lorelai tells her
''Nardini...oh is that Annie Nardini his old girlfriend from highschool's daughter?'' Mia asks her
''oh so you knew about her too and yea that's her she just came here like last year ans did a whole science project and the results turned out that Luke was confirmed as her father.'' Lorelai tells her
''so how do you feel about all of it?'' Mia asks her
''oh well I think I'm still trying to get over the shock of him having a daughter but it's been great and she's been a big help and helping me keep my mind off of missing Rory and breaking down.'' Lorelai tells her
''hey April sweetie come here here I want to introduce you to somebody.'' Lorelai tells her
''ok.'' April says and comes out from behind the desk and comes over to them.
''April this is Mia Howlette she used to own the Old Independence Inn which I used to run and has been like another mother to me and grandmother to Rory she took us in when I ran away at 17.'' Lorelai tells her
''Hi sweetie it's nice to meet you.'' Mia says and shakes her hand
''Hi!'' April says
