The remnant of his former self was as handsome as he had been, albeit in a ghoulish and grotesque manner. Bronze hair peeked out from the
bottom of the animal carcass that served as both a helmet and a cape, a perfect mouth with sharp teeth the only facial
feature visible.
L only blinked balefully at Light as the two faced each other across the endless expanse of bright white that served as their eternal damnation.
"Even you, the 'invincible' Kira had to face death and defeat." The detective stepped forward, large gray eyes locked on the visage of both his
best friend and mortal enemy.
The Kira remained still as L approached and placed a pale hand on his face. L smirked sardonically.
"And now you're all mine. You will belong to me, my love. There is no escape."
The corner of Light's mouth twitched until he too was grinning. The hunchback's other hand was cupping the remaining cheek, pulling Light
closer.
That's when he noticed that the other man had a shadow. It danced beneath his feet, contorting and warping beneath them.
"There is no escape." The chestnut hair prodigy repeated as the black mass manifested itself behind him. It shuddered and shivered into
shape, gargantuan paws forming followed by a canine body. Pitch black fur spiked out in every direction, burning red eyes blazing with a
ferocity that L had not known was possible. His hands fell limply to his sides as Light sidestepped, the beast snarling and frothing in front of
him.
"This is him, my pet. Do as you wish." He snapped his fingers and Mikami lunged, pinning the Whammy to the floor. Huge incisors cut into his
face and neck, gigantic claws slicing easily through his flesh. He had never felt pain like the searing burns that were causing him to spasm and
scream, Light's laughing ringing in his ears.
After hours upon hours of torture, the dog retreated to its master, his entire front covered in blood. Light petted him and kissed him under his
eye while crooning praises under his breath.
The remainders of L were fading away as Light let out a small sigh.
"Come now, my pet. He'll be resurrected somewhere. It's too bad you can't kill what's already dead, but, at the same time, it's rather
fortunate. Transgressors must be punished, don't you agree?"
The former prosecutor growled as the blood that drenched his surreal coat disappeared.
The hunter crawled on to his companion's back and spurred him on, a maniacal grin on his face. Even with his demise and his depart from the
human world, his justice would still be upholded and he would reign supreme. L- the cause of his downfall- and Near- when he died- would
suffer eternally for their blasphemy.
With a mighty roar his mount charged into the endless nothing of MU to find the prey of righteousness.
