Title: "Deja Vu."
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, blah, Fox and Josh, blah, poor student, meh.
Rating: PG
Pairing: Alex and Marissa.
Summary: Just a short poem from Marissa's POV set after The Blaze Of Glory.
A/N: I've used italics and bold to show which stanza is which.
It's happened again,
Once again a loved one has left,
Left you behind,
All alone
And all broken.
Every time one goes,
The knife digs deeper.
First your dad,
Then Ryan;
He came back though,
But you realise you don't care anymore.
The latest evacuee;
Alex,
Your first girlfriend.
Everyone you've ever dated
Has left,
Luke,
Ryan,
DJ,
And now you're most recent flame;
Alex.
For so long you wished Ryan were back,
But now that he is,
You're wishing for Alex to be back,
And Ryan to be gone.
You want you beer drinking,
Tattooed,
Bait-shop working,
Emancipated,
Purple-streaked blonde girlfriend back.
And of all the things you've ever wanted,
You know you wont get it,
It could go on a Christmas list;
But Santa wouldn't be able to fit her down the chimney.
Or as a black-mailed demand,
But it would go unfulfilled.
You drove her away,
But you can't bring her back.
So you do all you know how,
You drink,
The droplets of clear alcohol
Matching your tears.
And your loneliness,
Lost in a sea of vodka.
