A Change in Plans: Part One-Davis Hopes

*Davis's POV*
Stupid TJ...He thinks he can have Kari. Everybody knows she's my girl. My Kari. I don't know why that dork thinks she likes him, its obvious she is in love with me. Oh well, I'll let her dangle on a string before I ask her to the costume party.
It was late October in Odaiba, Japan, when T.D. Hoover High School was preparing for its annual Halloween costume dance. The entire school was in an uproar of excitement, as they saw the first posters going up, advertising the new band playing at the dance, Digital Destiny. Davis, and many others, knew that Matt was the lead singer of the band, but what he didn't know that sometimes, just sometimes, TK became one of the backup singers.
Hrrmm.....maybe I can ask Matt for a favor. I'll ask him if I can join him on stage, so I can tell Kari I love her! Yes! That will work! Davis jumped up and down with excitement. TA has nothing on me!
*TK's POV*
TK smiled as he saw Kari waving to him in the lunchroom that day. God, she is beautiful.... too bad she wont go to the dance with me. She wouldn't want to go with such a boring guy like me. Oh well, I can always hope.
"Hi Kari!" TK said, happily.
"Hey TK," Kari replied, "are you going to the Halloween dance?"
"Nah, I don't really want to go. It'll probably be boring, so I'll just stay at my house."
"But you can't, TK, because…"
"Because why, Kari?"
Right then and there, Kari pulled TK to her and kissed him on the cheek. Blushing and giggling, she managed to reply,
"Because you're going with me!"
With that, she ran off, and TK almost fainted. His knees weak and his head dizzy, he came to one conclusion: I am in love with Kari.
*End TK's POV*
Seeing that, a spikey-haired figure slumped into his seat, fighting back tears. Don't worry, he thought, she'll like me after the dance, with TK in her life or without.
*Kari's POV*
I can't believe I just did that. Oh God, now he'll probably never talk to me again.
I knew it! He would be too shy to even think of going with me, but I really don't want to have to go with Davis. He creeps me out, even though he is a nice kid, but he and I would never be a good match.Kari sighed as she stopped running and walked back to her table, with her friend, Yolei.
"So Kari? How did it go?", the bearer of Love and Sincerity asked.
"Bad…I don't think he wants to go with me…I guess I'll just have to ask Davis instead, which I don't want to do."
"That's too bad, 'cause I heard that TK was kinda smitten with you, Kamiya. Have you SEEN the way he looks at you?"
"No, I haven't noticed. What, how does he look at me?"
"Well start paying attention to him a little more, and you'll see! Anyways, its almost time to head back to class, so lets finish our lunch in peace, without talking about your love life. What about mine? I think Ken has the hots for me!"
