A/N: last fanfic of the year! So this is Sokka. It's when he's going to meet his dad. Still no ship.

Sokka sighed as he watched Aang fly off. He was on his own. He looked at the camp down below. He wanted to go. Really he did. But something was holding him back. Maybe it was the fact he hadn't seen his dad in over two years. Maybe it was because Sokka had changed so much since he last saw his dad. Maybe it was because he was shier then he knew. Whatever the reason Sokka stood there for a good five minute before he plucked up the courage to move.

Though the distance between where Aang had dropped Sokka off and his father's camp was very little it felt like miles. You can do this Sokka, he tried to reinforce himself to go forward Ok, left, right, left, right, left, right. He had to make himself move forward.

Sokka thought of something to pass the time. He thought about the last time he met his dad. He had been so young. A child. He wanted to fight. And that was all it was, fighting. Even a couple of months ago, all Sokka wanted to do was fight. He thought that would make him a warrior. He thought that would make him brave. He thought that would make good enough to join his dad.

When Sokka had been at the North Pole fighting became less of a factor of being a warrior. On that day he realized that fighting to become a man is bad. He had lost his love because of war and fighting. He had lost Yue. From that day on he made a vow to himself. The vow was; he would not to fight just to prove himself.

Sokka still fought in battles but it would never the same as it once was. Being with the avatar had changed him. He knew his father would think he had truly become a man. Or he hoped his father would think so. Cause Sokka did.

Soon Sokka found himself at the camp. He took a deep breath. This was it. He straitened up and walked in the camp. He could feel eye wander on him. He could hear things stop and conversations stop. Then he stopped when a man stopped in front of him. The man held out his hand. Sokka knew him; it was Wei. Sokka firmly took Wei's hand.

Soon Wei smiled and put a fist on Sokka's head. Sokka started to hear "Ha ha, hey Sokka!" "Good to see you!" There were deep laughs. They all knew him. These were familiar faces. This was his family.

They started to clear a path to a large tent. They knew who he wanted to see. Sokka's legs were moving without thought. This is it! He thought both scared and exited. He opened the drapes and saw a circle of men. In the middle were Sokka's dad and his friend Bato. Bato saw Sokka first. Bato smiled and nudged Sokka's dad with his scared arm. Sokka's dad looked up and smiled.

"Sokka,"

"Hi Dad"

A/N: K what'd you think. Please respond. Also I know it is not completely accurate.
