The Klingons were rulers of the Universe now; they were flying towards Earth even now going to attack the home planet of millions of people. And it was because James T. Kirk had failed his mission, he wasn't able to stop the Klingons, he had almost lost his ship and half his crew just trying to stop them. And now as Kirk sat on the deck of his damaged ship he ran a shaky hand through his sandy blonde hair.
"I need some time to be alone." The man spoke in a shaky voice. Sulu glanced at Checkov then at Spock, they all nodded and stood to their feet leaving the deck.
Kirk glanced around the deck to make sure he was alone, he felt tears pricking at the corner of his eyes. He hadn't cried since he was a child probably around the age of 12, but now here he was a full grown man holding back tears. Rising to his feet the blonde haired man set his hand to the windshield of the USS Enterprise, he watched out the window as hundreds of Klingon war ships raced towards his home planet. Warm tears began to spill from Kirk's soft blue eyes, balling his hands into fists he let out a curse an slammed his fist down onto the control pad of the broken ship. He sobbed cursing in between, this was all his fault and he couldn't anything about it. His ship was broken and his crew half dead. If only he had tried harder, if only he had listened to Spock's plan maybe he wouldn't be in this mess.
Kirk had been sobbing so loudly that he hasn't heard the door to the deck open and closed. The second officer stepped onto the deck walking towards his captain.
Jim was snapped from his thoughts as he felt a pair of warm arms slip around his thin waist.
"T'hyla," a voice spoke softly, "Don't cry, things are going to be okay"
Soft brown eyes met blue as Kirk turned to face his attacker.
"But Spock, this is all my fault. I'm a horrible captain I should of listened to you." Kirk choked out and buried his face into Spock's chest.
The Vulcan frowned and set a comforting hand on the back of his captains head . "No, this time the Klingons out smarted us. They knew we were coming, we were doomed from the start."
"I've failed." Kirk repeated and softly sobbed into Spock's chest.
The Vulcan pressed his lips softly to Kirk's forehead, leaving his lips there for a few moments.
"No you have not, not yet. There's still a chance Captain, with head of Star Fleet back on Earth keeping the Klingons busy we still have time to stop them. If Scotty can get us back up and going we will be able to make it back to Earth in no time."
The blonde haired man looked down at his feet and chewed on his bottom lip in thought weighing his options. The last few tears slid down Kirks cheeks and fell to the floor as he straightened up and looked at his second officer. "Get the rest of the crew back on deck, tell Scotty to do the best he can to get us up and running again. Either we're going down or they are."
Spock grinned, "Yes Captain," he said before saluting and turning on the balls of his feet walking off the deck.
Kirk captain of the USS Enterprise walked quickly back to his seat in the middle of the deck and took a shaky deep breath in, he was ready for the fight of his life.
