This is the start of my drabble series for FMA. I'll probably only be able to update on weekends though. Anyway, enjoy and R&R!

Questioning eyes slowly rose. It was hard to read when there were three, maybe four, girls giggling and watching from afar, especially when one of which was Winry, their friend since birth.

"Just ignore them, Al." The boy jumped. He'd nearly forgotten Ed was there. The blonde aspiring alchemist had been so quiet since they'd come to study under the trees cool shade, most likely because he was too engrossed in his book.

"They'll go away eventually."

It was then the pack of girls finally made movement, the predators finally coming to claim their prey. Both boys tensed, but stood their ground.

"What do you want?" Ed growled. He pushed in front of Al, putting up a brave front for his brother.

The girls giggled and pushed Winry forward. The blonde stumbled towards the two boys and with shy eyes looked down at Ed. She blushed a bright crimson and took a step back, only to be pushed forward again.

"C'mon, Win, you said you'd do it! You can't back out now!" Mumbles of agreement could be heard.

Ed could only guess that that was the leader of the group.

"Hey! If she doesn't want to-"

Golden eyes widened with surprise. He hadn't even realized Winry had gotten so much closer to him until it was too late and her soft lips had closed what little distance between them was left. And before the feel of Winry's lips on his own could catch up to his brain it was over.

"Brother...?" Ed opened his eyes slowly. When did Al move? And why were the girls gone? He looked up at Al with clouded eyes. How long had he been standing there like that?

"Brother, are you okay?"

He shook his head.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I be, Al?" Ed huffed. "Like I said if you ignore them they go away!" He turned back to his book.

Giggle.

"What, Al?"

"Nothing, brother."

Another giggle.

"Al!"

"Brother, you're blushing!" Al giggled, his small fingers rose to point at his eldest sibling's glowing face. He'd never seen his brother react this way to anyone before and it was an amusing sight for Alphonse indeed.

"I am not!" Ed protested. He turned his back to Alphonse, burying his face in his book.

This only fueled the younger brother's giggle fits.

"You are!"

"Shut up, Al!" The blond snapped, stern eyes locking with Al's. "I'm the oldest and you have to listen to me."

Al shook his head, a wide smile on his face.

"Whatever you say, brother."

He'd let his brother win this time, but he'd remember to use this as blackmail later.
