"There's a saying that goes as 'pretty birds always end up caged'."

The boy's lips contorted sideways, blooming on a smile that let out a laugh escape by its cracks. The tall man, thin as a rod, walked erratically around on what was, long before, a classroom. The boy watched his steps, seeing a subtle pattern on what looked like a nonsensical roaming. Riddler was never still, always thinking, always moving; Robin liked it, how he always seemed to be scheming something, some untold plan on the move. In a way, he knew he should do anything but be sat on the table while observing a villain, but guilty was beyond him. Most of the time, Robin couldn't see the Riddler as nothing more than a puzzle to be solved.

"That's why you locked me here?" Robin asked, jumping off the table and landing gracefully on the floor. "Because I'm a pretty bird?"

"Ah, I think I captured a pretentious little bird." Riddler retorted, laughing as he twirled the cane in his hand. Robin got closer, catching the cane from Riddle and twirling it himself, making an improvised juggle. The Riddler clapped in delight and Robin curtsied back.

"I am not pretentious". Robin said, pouting slighted. "But I do want to know why you captured me".

The Riddler gave him an enigmatic smile, full of questions that Robin wanted to answer himself.

"Ah, little bird..." The Riddler took of his green hat and spun it on his forefinger, before getting closer to Robin. He put a hand in his cheek and ut the hat on the boys black hair. "Another riddle for you to solve. If you find the answer, who knows, I may even let you go".

Let me babble

I'm sorry if this makes little to no sense. This was made long ago for a Livejournal community that held a Batman Challenge (Challenge 2 - What's is green and purple and with red and yellow on top? Robin I/Riddler). Anyway, this was originally written in Portuguese and I just now decided to translate it.
