Macy P.O.V

Stupid Macy, stupid, stupid Macy. Stupid LA, stupid Stella and her date set up. Stupid karma. There I was, at a table with some guy that I had nooo intentions of dating. But apparently Stella didn't buy that. Noooo, Stella Malone was the relationship guru. Who, ironically, couldn't sort out her own relationship.

"Soo, Macy, I hear you're into sports," Blake said, the idiot Stella set her up with. His red hair was falling in front of his eyes, which bugged Macy even more. Not like he wasn't attractive, she just didn't WANT to date him! She wanted a certain curly haired rock star.

"Yeah, that's my hobby," Macy said unenthusiastically. The ping of the bell at the restaurant door startled her. She spun in her chair and met the startled eyes of her secret love. He looked surprised, then hurt, then confused, and finally sad, all in about thirty seconds. Macy gave a little wave, but Nick had turned around and walked out, head down, into the rain, which had recently started, almost in reaction to Nick's mood. Macy sighed then made a quick decision.

"I'm sooo sorry, but I have to go," She said to her 'date'. He smiled understandingly. She got up and raced outside and searched for Nick. She found him standing at a crosswalk a little ways down the street.

"Nick!" He turned and faced me, his eyes locking with mine. I ran up to him and stopped just short of running into him. His usually curly hair was hanging limply around his face. He looked surprised to see me, but I couldn't tell if it was good surprised.

"Hey Macy, what about your date?" His eyes were dull and the shine was gone. I felt like someone had punched me.

"That was a Stella set-up," I clarified quickly, hoping he understood. His eyes brightened a little as he looked at me.

"I hope you didn't just leave him for my sake," Nick said, looking guilty. He was so sweet. This is why I loved him!

"He understood," I said with as sweet and cute a smile I could.

"May I escort the pretty lady home then?" He asked, holding out an arm. I grinned and linked my arm with his and we walked across the street in the pouring rain without raincoats or umbrellas.

We soon arrived at the LA house, soaked. Stella rushed out and looked at the both of us, and realized that Blake was missing.

"What happened with Blake?" She asked, looking shocked.

"I didn't like him, we just didn't click," Macy said with an innocent smile.

"Nick came to my rescue and walked me home!" She finished. Nick gave a crooked smile just to convince Stella completely. She bought it.

"Well, I can't believe you two didn't click but OK," She said, and turned to escape the rain before her clothes were drenched.

"Thanks for understanding," Macy said, looking up into Nick's deep dark chocolate eyes. He gave her one of his rare grins and before she knew what was happening, Macy was leaning in to kiss him. It was less romantic than Macy thought kissing in the rain was, more wet and cold than anything, but the fact she was kissing Nick helped with that. It was quick and innocent, and she loved it. Without another word, the pair walked into the house to get dry. Stella had triumphed again, though she didn't know it.
