"We should leave," Jasper murmured, quietly plucking the strings to his guitar and thinking of the times they'd played together, him on guitar and Edward on piano, "They all know and its making them miserable,"
He didn't look up as Edward perched on the branch next to him, reaching out to gently smooth out a random curl of the older vampire's hair. All Jasper wanted at that moment was to go. To leave with Edward. He had a weird dream, a fantasy about them playing a duet in some quiet, romantic place.
"Bella doesn't know," Edward corrected, just as quiet, "We could carry on, like we did before they knew, pretend nothings going on until we-"
"No," Jasper's voice was suddenly a snarl, loud as it cut through Edward's smooth voice, "You don't get to keep her and just leave me stuck there. Like an old toy you only use when you break your new one,"
Jasper leapt of the oak tree, shaking his head solemnly landing on two feet and glancing up at the shocked, bronze haired vampire above him, his guitar hanging loosely from his hand, "I can't let you do that, Edward, i can't let you break us all any more then we've already succeeded in doing. And I'm surprised you'd even dare to suggest that i'd try it,"
Then he ran. And Edward didn't stop him.
Jasper needed to go solo for a while.
