Future Effects of a Past War

The Doctor is forever saving everyone else. But who's turn is it to save him from becoming who he was during the war when power corrupted him. Amy, Rory and the tenth Doctor's companions must come together to help their Doctor. There's just one problem... He's missing, and no one can find him. (This story is in progress as of the 18/10/17)

1. Prologue

Chapter 1: The Last Great Time War

Doctor. After fighting in this war so long, I have forgotten what it means to be The Doctor. Now I am nothing but a warrior, a murderer and tomorrow I make that more true than I care to admit. Tomorrow, this war will end. I'm ending it, once and for all.

The high pitch ringing was there, it always was. The after effect of the constant firing of our guns, trying to tear down the intruding enemy on this barren land I once called home. Filled with the memories of those lost, their corpses laying waste to this once beautiful city, now unrecognisable to me. The screams of the children echo in the back of my mind, the images of them being stricken down bloody before me flashing in front of my eyes on replay. How will I ever live to survive this? Well, the truth is, I don't want to. I have had centuries of running from everyone, everything and now I'm done. I have no desire to make it out of here alive, only to find a way to end this war which has already gone on longer than it should have. I think I have finally found a way to end it, although it goes against every fibre of my being. The Time Lord council would never approve and why would they? The crime I'm am going to commit will silence the universe, leaving them speechless and in mourning of us. But that's ok, they'll live, they'll be safe. Unlike us, unlike the Daleks and the other monsters who have surfaced in hopes of destroying us.

There is only one weapon I know of that can cause such destruction. One weapon that is so old, time has almost forgotten it, but not me. For I do not know what will happen in the following days to come but I do know that I will do everything I can to save my people from this eternal hell. No more shall they run in fear for their lives, no more shall they suffer from the loss of their loved ones and no more shall they live in fear. This weapon is deemed so powerful that is in the highest protective unit of Gallifrey. I intend to break in there and steal it before returning to the barn I ran to as a kid when I was scared. The place I called home just outside the once beautiful city of Arcadia.
