This poem is from the point of view of my OC, Southern Scotland, who, as we all know, is under the rule of her little brother England. I imagine that while England treats her and her siblings well, she still wants to be free, and she's actually fairly dangerous, or would be if her proverbial wings weren't clipped. So here's Creature, Embra's thoughts on being a captive. Enjoy dearies!
There's an anger that they'll never know
A hatred that they'll never see
For behind that laughing fair façade
Lies a creature wanting to be free
Hidden by two emerald eyes
That never let the secret stray
Masked by a smile, wide and bright
But even that has begun to fray
They'll never know the danger
They'll never know the threat
Don't expect it from this creature
Their silly little pet
The monster still has fangs
The cat still has its claws
The snake still has its venom
The creature can see their flaws
It watches from the shadows
The edges of the sight
Waiting for that moment
To go and join the fight
Heed not that silly monster
Ignore the tiny cat
The snake is but an earthworm
The creature could crush them flat
It's vicious and unhappy
In its prison all alone
It wishes to see freedom
To escape these walls of stone
Most will never see it
This creature that I hide
And yet they all still know
Its reach is far and wide
No person is exempted
From this creature kept within
But it's hidden all the while
By this happy little grin
So that's from the point of view of Embra, southern Scotland, also known as the Lowlands. I'll explain her and her twin brother, Inverness, at a later date. If you want to find out before then, just PM me and I'll tell you whatever you want to know!
