The Doctor grinned at Barty as he trailed a silver knife along his skin. "Just relax Barty, This won't hurt much. If you're a good boy, you might get a reward."

Barty gulped but remained still as the Doctor pressed down a little harder on the knife, leaving a few droplets of blood on Barty's otherwise pale skin. "I'm all for all the pain but... why this?"

"Just so you won't forget me," the Doctor replied, his brown eyes expressionless as he carved a pattern on Barty's chest and left arm. "Also, this is punishment for your crimes."

Barty gasped as the knife hit a sensitive spot on his chest. "I know, I made a mistake."

"A mistake?!" the Doctor exclaimed, pushing harder down on the knife than he meant to, causing Barty to let out a sound that sounded like a whimper. "A mistake is when you put on pink socks instead of green ones. What you did was a plan."

"It was a mistake. And I paid for it." Barty muttered, as the knife's blade was lifted slightly.

"Yes, you did," The Doctor stated, as he cleaned the blood from Barty's skin. The cuts stood out as a stark red against his pale freckled skin. "Once this has healed, you'll have a nice scar to show everyone who you belong to." He dug the knife into the skin of Barty's wrist. "And who is that?"

"You," Barty whispered. "I belong to you."
