It's gone.
Amon took my bending.
It's over. Everything is over.
Like I wasn't a failure before this… A tear drips down her face as she looks out over the edge of the cliff. It would be so easy to just…
"KORRA!"
She doesn't have to even turn around to know it's Mako standing there. He followed me even though I told him I needed to be alone. Why? I'm nothing anymore. I'm not the avatar…
"KORRA! Please… Please just come here… I don't care if you can't bend anymore. I… Love you… Please step away from the edge…"
"I can't,"
She turns and catches a glimpse of his face, seeing his stern facade melting into a worried young street kid. "I can't go on like this."
"Please Korra. I'm begging you…" His voice is strained. "Please. I can't live without you."
You have Asami,
She thought. You have Bo, Tenzin, Pema, Lin, the airbender kids… You'll forget about me.
"Korra…"
She leaned forward. Another tear slipped from her eye.
"KORRA DON'T." He stepped towards her and lunged towards her arm.
Not quick enough.
"KORRA!" He screeched.
The only reply he got was a heart breaking scream.
She was plummeting into the ocean and he knew she wouldn't survive. He couldn't move. He was paralyzed with shock and fell to his knees. His heart felt like it would burst and his body started shaking with the sobs that he didn't even try to hide. He couldn't save her. He couldn't stop her. He would never hold her in his arms again. He would never see their children..
CRACK.
Oh spirts, No. He had to get to her somehow.. he had to do something.
Meanwhile,
Walking on the beach he realized that he never even had a chance with her. Now, She wouldn't even be the same girl he fell so very in love with. A broken shell of the Avatar is what she would become. He knew he would love her anyway. If all she did was sit and cry, he would hold her and take care of her. Talk to her as she mumbled from the madness that took her slowly. Feed her soup when she wouldn't move from bed or eat…
"KORRA!"
Mako?
He quickly looked up to see Korra falling from the tallest cliff he'd ever seen.
"SPIRITS!"
In one fluid motion he moved the earth to catch her from the air with a
CRACK.
She had broken something for sure, what it was he didn't know.
He slowly bent the earth to his will and lowered the chunk of cliff onto the beach and sprinted to her.
"KORRA! KORRA! Can you hear me?!"
She looked up at him with tears and gasped."Bolin?"
"Korra. Oh spirits."
He looked at her through blurry tear-filled eyes and surveyed the damage. She obviously had broken some limbs—her right leg was bent far beyond where it should be. He only then noticed the blood on her lower lip. Her rib must've punctured a lung.
"You'll be okay. I promise. Stay with me." He begged the spirits he could keep her alive but he still had his doubts.
"Bo." She said through blood-choked gasps.
"Yes?! What do you need?!" She had drawn his attention away from her collapsed chest.
"Leave me here."
What? He began to process that she had most likely jumped from the cliff. "No."
"Please." She whispered and shut her eyes.
"No. I won't leave you. I love you." He picked her limp body up from the ground and sent the ground they stood on up to the top of the cliff only to see Mako bawling with his head between his hands.
When Mako looked up at her a look of agony crossed his face. Then determination.
"We have to get her to Katara. NOW."
