Intro.
The brick streets of Gotham were filled with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The smell of freshly baked bread could be smelled all the way down the street, until you reached where most of the livestock was kept. At first glance, everything and every one seemed happy and normal and willing to help one another. But beneath it all, it was dark.
The people were afraid to be out, even in the broad daylight.
In one particular, dark corner of this city, near sunset, there was a small ally-way. Only big enough for someone to walk through. There was no way a horse could make it through, let alone a cart. The end of it was a dead end, and most simply used it to dump the waste of the day. But today? Today there was a young man, pinned at the end of it, up against the wall.
And lucky for his mugger, the buildings around them made it as dark as the night. "I won't hurt ya if you hurry up." The man spoke, holding a dagger to the other's throat.
"I-I don't have much." The young man stuttered as he pulled a couple copper pieces from his money pouch. The other man snatched the pieces and the pouch from the young man's hand, before slicing the young man's throat.
Hardly a sound was capable of escaping his throat, as his murderer took off down the small ally-way and blended himself in the the rest of the crowd.
His body wouldn't be found for days.
