It was almost six months after the War before Molly could bring herself to clear out Fred's things.
Although they mostly lived at the shop, Fred and George had occasionally stayed a night or two at the Burrow, always leaving behind an explosion of their products - with varying degrees of danger - all over the house. Most of them were left intentionally to scare her, although the number of these significantly decreased after one too many almost-heart attacks on Molly's part, and the threat of being disowned hanging over Fred and George's heads. However, some were left by accident, and these Molly kept in boxes in Ron's room for safekeeping.
It was in one of these boxes that she found it. A piece of paper was wedged between a Skiving Snackbox and a Boxing Telescope and, being careful not to touch anything that even had the potential to explode, Molly reached in and grabbed it. Even without unfolding it, she could see Fred's scribbled writing showing through the paper. She had to sit down for a moment to calm herself enough to read it.
On the paper was a drawing of... a tie? Upon closer inspection, Molly managed to make out some ideas for a novelty tie Fred had been designing, although she couldn't make out the detail; for the life of her she had never been able to read Fred's handwriting. A date was written in the top corner, and Molly's heart skipped a beat as she realised it was only a month before the War. This, then, must have been the last product Fred had worked on beforeā¦
No. She wouldn't think about it. Wiping her eyes and grabbing her coat, she flooed to Diagon Alley and headed to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
The shop was as busy as ever - busier, in fact. She had to push past several people to find George.
"Mother!" he cried, grinning widely at her. "How can I help you today?"
Molly smiled back at her son, reaching to hug him. Once they had separated, she patted his arm and pulled the paper out of her pocket. "Can we talk?"
In the privacy of the storeroom, Molly explained how she had found the paper, and her idea for it. George's eyes never left the hurried design the entire time, his eyes shining with tears, immediately agreeing to her plan. They called Ron back, too, and he didn't hesitate before wordlessly nodding a yes.
Two weeks later, their newest product was ready to be released. Molly hugged her sons. Together, they unveiled the stand.
