Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Elizabeth. All of the kingdom loved her and all the princes in the neighboring kingdoms wanted to marry her. She had golden curls and beautiful green eyes, with the pale skin associated with royalty and a figure that all men appreciated. She always got what she wanted and was never unsatisfied. And one other thing: she was a downright snob.

Also during that once upon a time, there was a beautiful servant girl named Caila. All of the servants loved her and all the stable boys wanted to marry her. She had soft brown hair with honey highlights and brilliant blue eyes, mostly hidden by a messy bun and a downcast gaze. She had snow-white skin from rarely having gone outside, and her figure was slim and slightly anorexic, hidden by shapeless clothes. She never got what she wanted, but she had what she needed: a family to love her, a kitten to care for, food, shelter, and her god. And one other thing: she was almost always in a good mood.

Now, no one is without their faults. And everyone has their good characteristics. If you plan to continue reading, here's a few things you should probably know:

Elizabeth's parents, the king and queen, never paid much attention to her. Caila doesn't have parents, but she calls the head chef Dad, and the cook, Mom. Elizabeth has a large number of friends and an even larger number of suitors. Caila has a ton of friends (every single servant, most of the royals, and everyone in town), and about twelve suitors, the stable boys. Elizabeth is very stuck up and spoiled, and being the princess, will one day inherit the throne. Caila is not stuck up, unbelievably unspoiled, and will probably one day run the kitchen.

And these two collided when one day, Elizabeth decides she wants a kitten...

This is my first story! I swear, the title will come into play later.

And the servant's name is pronounced Cay-la. Say clay without the l, then la. Cay-la.
