It was a night in a mini camp site. Our four heroes were laying in bed, but Serena was having a dream.

Ash was in front of a plane with his pikachu on his shoulder. Serena was crying, "Well, Ash, I guess the day has finally come." Ash said, "Yeah. The day I leave is finally here" Serena said, "Ash, there's something I've been wanting to admit. I actually love you." Ash laughed. "What's so funny?" She asked. "YOU? You think YOU of all people could have a chance with me? Name one good thing about you." "But...I thought we were.." He interrupted her. "Sorry Serena, but I've already got girls who deserve me more. You don't battle, you failed your chance to be Kalos Queen, and you're scared all the time. You're just a sad little girl who won't amount to anything in life. If you've journeyed with me because you thought we could get together, then I'm glad we're leaving!."

Serena woke up. She looked around. Bonnie was in her sleeping bag. She looked at the clock: 7:30. Well, even if it were 12, she was NOT going back to sleep now. She picked up her Pokeballs and walked out to a lake about 5 minutes away. She let them out and told them about her dream.

Later, Ash, Pikachu, Clemont, Bonnie, and Dedene were up. Clemont was cooking some pancakes when he asked, "Hey, can someone go find Serena and tell her breakfast is almost ready?" Ash volunteered, "I'll do it." The boy and his pikachu followed her footsteps. After a few minutes of walking, Ash heard something. "I know that Ash wouldn't say those things in real life, but...I wonder if I really am that bad." Braixen, Pancham and Sylveon started protesting against that belief. Ash walked in, "I wouldn't say what things in real life?"

Serena blushed, "ASH! H-How long have you been here?" "Just a few seconds. What happened?" "Nothing, it was just a bad dream." Ash sat down next to her. "Tell me about it, I hate seeing people unhappy." She told him about the dream. She left out the part about telling him she loved him and kept it platonic, but she did give the main reason.

Ash frowned. "Serena...I would never say any of those things to you." "I know but...I'm just scared that it was myself telling me stuff that's actually true." "Serena, everybody doubts themselves sometimes. I do. Remember that time we were in the forest outside Snowbelle." She remembered. Ash had lost all faith in himself and only Serena knocked him out of it. "When we doubt ourselves, we need close people to help us realize our true potential. And Serena, you didn't fail to become Kalos Queen." "Really?" "You didn't win either, but I won't consider you a failure on that unless you give up." Serena smiled.

"Also, I know you don't battle unless its necessary, but I'm okay with that. Everybody has their own interests. Imagine if everybody in the world had the EXACT SAME interests. It would be boring." He did have a point. "Finally, I'd be surprised if you really were scared all the time. You always seem so confident when you're on stage. You're one of the most courageous people I know. I would be a bit nervous performing in front of that many people...and on TV. I only get through leagues because the battles distract me." She wiped a tear off her face.

"Serena, if you ever doubt yourself, just remind yourself this: 'Your worth more than you think you are.'" She got up. "Thank you, Ash." "Braix-Braix!" Pan." "Eon-Syl." "Now let's go, I'm getting a bit hungry." Ash got up and said, "Me too." The two trainers and their pokemon walked back to their camp ground.

After breakfast, the quartet of trainers continued back to Lumiose City. Serena walked right next to him, knowing that she should enjoy her time with Ash until the day she dreamed about eventually did come...but now knowing it would not go the same way.
