John sat in his bedroom, examining some old books that his dad gave him before his irreversible demise. Dust coated one, he blew it off. The cover showed it was a family album; 'Egbert' was the title of it. He flipped through a couple of pages before finding one on him and his father; John was a young child in the pictures, he remembered most of the times that the pictures captured. One page was incredibility thick, as John was about to turn the page a note fell out.
He picked it up and examined its contains.
Dear John,
If you are reading this now it means that I am dead and you have entered a game called Sburb. Although it has started the apocalypse it has given me you, the most wonderful thing in my life. I loved seeing your pranks and seeing them grow to make you the prankster you are now.
Even though I didn't get to see you grow up to become a man at least I got to see you one last time on your thirteenth birthday.
I am so proud of you son,
Dad
Tears stung at John's eyes, he had no idea that the game would do this. "I would give up playing this game and seeing my friends to have you back Dad!" He covered his eyes with his forearm.
"It was supposed to be a gameā¦"
Author's note: Remember in Homestuck how Dad Egbert left all these notes around the house that sounded like he knew these crazy things would happen? Well, I think it's because Dad either has weird psychic abilities like Rose or he's writing the notes from the future and laying them around the house. Please do not judge me and tell me that that is completely wrong, I'm just saying it would explain a lot.
