They were walking down the wood on their way back from a mission. Hidan was very glad, because the path before him was spinning.
He was sick!
Not that the illness could kill him, but he could faint every minute not.
The thing was ... Kakuzu didn't know.
'Well ... he wouldn't care anyway. ' Hidan thought and went on.
Finally they reached the base, went to Pain and reported their mission and went back to their room.
The first thing Kakuzu did, was sitting down and count his money.
'As usual.' Hidan thought and his heart clenched.
He had hoped that Kakuzu would notice, that he was ill and care for him, but hell would freeze over, before Kakuzu even said one nice word to Hidan.
'If I only could tell him my feelings.'
Hidan shock his head.
No... Kakuzu would never notice and Hidan would never tell him that he loves him, because the miser wouldn't care, he would probably laugh at him.
So Hidan lay down on his own bed and immediately fell asleep.
His dream was weird ... first he was in his room, but he couldn't get out, and then suddenly he was alone in the forest, no he wasn't alone there were enemies all around him. Hundreds of Kunais hid his Body and he couldn't dodge them or defeat himself... and then there was Kakuzu laughing at him and calling him weak for not dodging the attacks.
With a gasp he awoke, just to see Kakuzu in front of his bed, telling him something about a mission in 10 minutes.
Oh great how could he manage that? The whole room was spinning as he stood up. Luckily Hidan could slowly catch his balance, grab his Scythe and meet his already waiting partner in the hallway.
He had somehow managed to get to the village without fainting or showing his illness, but truth was... he wasn't in any shape to fight.
But it was too late to tell his partner now, because they were now attacked by their enemies. Hidan tried his best, but after only five minutes he had a Kunai in his heart already, with some difficulties he manages to kill the attacker, who luckily was too surprised that Hidan wasn't dead.
20 minutes later Hidan had some room around him.
From very far away he could here Kakuzu shouting something at him, but couldn't understand a word, even though Kakuzu was not more than three feet away.
The last thing he saw before he fainted was his partners shocked face and some blurry enemies rushing at them.
His head hurt, his arms hurt, his whole body hurt, as he tried to open his eyes. He quietly grunted.
He tried to sit up, but was pushed down again, as he tried.
"Don't."
"Ka-kuzu?"
"You need to rest."
"Why?"
"Huh?"
"Why would you care?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Because you hate me and probably wish I would die."
"No Hidan...I don't hate you, I-"
"LIAR!" Hidan cried and tears rolled down his cheeks.
"You never cared about me!"
Hidan had jumped up and now his vision was blurry again and he fell down, just about to faint again.
But before he did he noticed that he didn't collide with the ground, but was caught by Kakuzu.
As Hidan awoke again he wasn't lying on the floor of the cave, but was leaning against Kakuzu, wh prevented him from jumping up again.
"I told you, you shouldn't stand up."
"Listen Hidan ... I don't hate you and I definitely don't want you to die."
"...Kuzu?"
"Mhhh?"
"I love you..."
"Love you too Hidan, love you too."
Hidan chuckled
"What is it?"
"Just thought that the Devil must be freezing right now."
"...?"
