Another original Jay-Jay story, this time it's "Lost Near the Campsite" Enjoy and comment.
Jay-Jay, Snuffy, Tracy and Herky were excited. Big Jake was taking them camping.
The most excited of all was Herky. He had never been camping before, and was eager to get started.
"Are we going to sing campfire songs?" asked Herky.
"Of course!" said Big Jake.
"And are we going to eat smores?" asked Jay-Jay.
"Yes we are!"
Soon, they arrived at Tarrytown Campground.
"Everyone stay close to me." said Big Jake. "We don't want anyone getting lost."
As they kept going, Herky became a bit frightened, especially when they arrived at the campsite.
"Are we really going to spend a whole night here?" asked Herky.
"Yes we are." said Big Jake. "It's very peaceful here, so there's no reason to be scared."
"Are there any animals here?" wondered Tracy.
"There sure are!" said Jay-Jay. "You'll see most of them later tonight."
That night, after eating yummy smores, and observing the night animals, it was time for bed.
But Herky wasn't ready for bed just yet. He wanted to go exploring himself for a while.
"Not now Herky." said Big Jake. "Now, it's time to go to sleep."
Herky decided that when the others were fast asleep, that he would explore the area himself for a while.
And he did.
As soon as Big Jake fell asleep, he wandered off.
But soon, he quickly became lost.
Herky looked for a way back to the campsite, when he saw trees blocking his way.
"Uh-oh." he groaned. "I'm lost! I should have listened to Big Jake!"
So Herky continued to follow a path, which eventually led him back to the campsite.
But when he arrived back, Big Jake was very dissapointed with Herky.
"Why did you wander off?" asked Big Jake.
"Because I wanted to explore on my own for a little bit." replied Herky.
"But what you did was very dangerous. You need to be careful at all times here. Now get some rest, okay?"
Herky had learned that you shouldn't run off on your own, and that you should stay together at all times.
