It's Tradition

It was Christmas time in Magnolia and at the Fairy Tail guild they didn't celebrate the occasion in halves. There was a huge tree in the center of the guild with loads of presents underneath it that were waiting to be opened. There were decorations everywhere and fake snow even covered the guild making it look like a Winter Wonderland.

Though at this moment in time the guilds attention wasn't on admiring the guilds new look that Mira spent the night before setting up, but on Happy who was holding Mistletoe over the celestial mage and dragon slayer.

Lucy was frozen in place and she was pretty certain her face was as red Erza's hair at that moment. The blond was trying to comprehend was this really happening to her or was it a dream.

She couldn't believe Happy would do this to her... Well that was a lie, this was exactly something Happy would do but why with Natsu and in front of the entire guild. It didn't help matters that Natsu was grinning the whole time.

"H-happy?" Lucy stuttered.

"Yes, Lucy?" Oh how Lucy hated that tone that cat had when he pretended he wasn't doing anything wrong.

"What you doing?" Lucy was glad that she was able to say sentences properly.

"It's mistletoe." Happy said innocently while dangling it above the two mages heads.

"I know what it is!" Lucy shrieked. "What are you doing with it?" Lucy was afraid to ask even though it was obvious to her and the whole guild what the blue cat was doing.

"I'm bringing Christmas cheer!" Happy said gleefully.

Happy didn't understand how embarrassing it was for her and Natsu (well he didn't really count since he didn't seem really bothered) to be brought Christmas cheer in front of everyone. It wasn't making things any easier with Levy and Mira giving her the thumbs up not too far away from Natsu. She regretted ever telling them that she liked the dragon slayer.

"It's tradition, Lucy." Natsu grinned.

Lucy was sure her heart was going to leap out of chest from what Natsu just said. She was also certain that her face had gone even redder, if that was even possible.

"And since you lllllike-" Lucy grabbed Happy and cover his mouth before he could finish the sentence. Lucy had no idea how he even knew that she liked Natsu in the firsts place. Lucy laughed nervously as she looked around the guild, while avoid looking at Natsu. "He's such a funny cat." And with that the blond walked as fast as she could out of the guild while dragging Happy with her.

It only took a few moments for Natsu to hurry after the two and while exiting Natsu nearly bumped into the ice mage.

"Where you in such a hurry flamehead?"

Natsu grinned widened. "Lucy owes me something!"
