Her Dress Was Vermillion
"She seemed dressed in all of me
Stretched across my shame
All the torment and the pain
Leaked through the cover in me...
I'd do anything, ever, to myself
Just to have her for myself...
Now i don't know what to do...
I don't know what to do...
When she makes me sad.."
He glanced down the hall. She stood there, as bursts of sun flashed across her face when she turned her head, making her sparkling eyes shine brighter. He stared down at his own reflection in the floor. How could he ever compare to those eyes? There were indeed, nothing brighter... nothing... his own dull with age and hard labor.
He would've given anything to have had the chance to go back and change everything, so that maybe he could be in the same world as her, instead of this one galaxies away. A world of filth and despair... a world of shame...
"She is everything to me
The unrequited dream
A song that no one sings
The unattainable...
She's a myth that I have to believe in
All I need to make her real, is one more reason...
I don't know what to do...
I don't know what to do...
When she makes me sane.....
But I wont let this build up inside of me.."
She'll never know, but he surrounds himself with her presence...
She'll never notice but the ground she walks upon will always shine...
She's the only one who's never said something cruel... the only one who didn't seem to be afraid...disgusted, even. No, she gave him the respect of every other person she met, even if she never said a word to him.
She's the only reason he still wakes up...
The only thing that gets him through the day..
The one thing he has to look forward to...
And she doesn't know he exists... not beyond the jumpsuit.
The feelings get harder to supress...
"A catch in my throat
Choke
Torn into pieces
I won't
No
I don't wanna be this...
But i won't let this build up inside of me.."

She walks by him. Her blonde hair blowing in her face. He calls out to her...
" I love you, you know," he states.
She smiles...
******
His body jolts as he wakes from his dream.
"So close..." he thought, "so real."
But, alas, it was but a dream. One that would plague him until that day when he put himself out there... that day when he made her notice him. And on that day, all would change...time and space... the laws of logic and, of course, love.
"She isn't real
I can make her real..."
She walks toward the door where he is standing. The moment is now. He opens it.
She smiles...
"Thank you very much. That's very sweet of you Mr....uh.." she said.
"No need to thank me, little lady," he said cooly, "I'm just the janitor..."
