What We Once Were
A small, pale, and calloused thumb wiped the layers of dust from the glass leaving only a certain pair of golden eyes visible from the photo. It was like looking into the eyes of a goddess, whose divinity could never be touched by anyone. It seemed like the sun itself was hidden in her golden irises. Soi Fon moved her thumb down more until she could see all of the one person in the world she had loved, who she had worshiped. The Goddess sat there in the photo staring up at her admirer as though challenging her to even think about trying to be as perfect as her. Every time she looked at those beautiful and commanding eyes, Soi Fon would feel her heart throb painfully in her chest even after all these years.
The Chinese woman scowled and threw the picture down, glass shattering over the desk. She stormed out of the room, slamming the door as she went. The walls shook forcing the frame to slip and fall to the floor. The photo landed facing up, no longer obscured by the dust covered glass.
Yoruichi grinned at the camera with Soi Fon tucked under her arm, The smaller girl's face dangerously close to Yoruichi's breast, making her cheeks turn a bright red. They were happy then and it reflected in their eyes, something that Soi Fon could no longer see when she looked at herself mirror. The woman who held her so closely in the photo had left Soi Fon a broken and bitter shell of what she once was; a loyal guard, a best friend, a lover.
A/N: I don't know if it's any good or not, but I hope everyone likes. I love Yoruichi, but leaving poor Soi Fon was cruel, even to me :( Poor Soi.
I might wright more about them but I'm not sure yet. Let me know if you think I should.
