A/N: Hi everyone! Barbie here :) This is my very first fanfic ever, so I really hope you like it! I checked the spelling and everything a few times but English is not my native language so I am really really sorry if I messed it up! Anyway, this is Post-Loss/Serendipity, sort of AO. Enjoy you reading :)
Disclaimer: Oh, C'mon, if I'd own SVU, I'd totally put Mariska shirtless when Liv slept with Haden.
The cold liquid fell down through her throat. How much could everything change in a few days? She had met her today, and even though it wasn't the attorney's fault, she loathed her already. "Casey Novak" Olivia mumbled to herself as she took another sip from her glass of beer.
It's not her fault. She remembered herself all day, but she couldn't help but to despite the new SVU ADA. She was taking Alex's place, a place that should have never been left available.
She had blamed Alex for being so stubborn; she had blamed Elliot for not catching the shooter; she had blamed herself for not protecting the blonde; and now she was blaming Novak for taking her friend's job.
She leaned deeper into the couch and tried to bury the back of her head. Her eyes looked up to the light brown wall next to her and small tears started appearing. A picture of Olivia and Alex was hanging on the wall.
It was taken last year on Olivia's birthday. Alex had made her a cake that said "Happy Birthday Detective" in blue letters and had a marzipan copy of her shield. Olivia would never forget the grin Alex had when she put the cake over the brunette's desk.
"Oh, you weren't expecting a Winnie the Pooh themed party, weren't you?" The blonde teased her and started asking for a match to light the candles.
Everybody had just begun to sing the 'Happy Birthday' when Alex leaned closer and whispered into Olivia's ear. "Remember Liv, you only have three wishes, make good use of them." She put a hand softly on the detective's shoulder and squeezed it.
Olivia was taken apart from her thoughts when the phone in her pocket vibrated. She grabbed the phone and groaned as she saw the ID. Novak. Her finger was about the press the green button when her eyes met Alex's picture again, she couldn't do this right now. Olivia closed her phone and threw it away, she took another sip of her drink and caressed the side of the glass. She closed her eyes while a tear was dropped. A short series of deep breaths, one last look to the photo and she went to bed. She needed to sleep, at least in her dreams the blonde would be back.
