Appearance

Genovia is shown as a young woman with long blonde hair with reddish tints in them, giving it a strawberry blonde color, and twinkling heliotrope eyes. Her skin is very fair and she is not very tall in terms of height (between 5'3" and 5'6"). She has been said to have a nice figure with slender and well-proportioned physique. Her vital measurements are B85/W59/H86. One of her most significant feature is the small hair curl that seems to droop down from the middle of her head. She mostly wears a dark blue military uniform which consist of a dark-blue double-breasted jacket, matching breeches, lacy white sleeveless top underneath with a black tie, black boots, belt and gloves. She has a white beret along with it. She also has two ear piercings on each ear; one of each has a blue stud earring.

As a child, she kept her hair in a braid with two black ribbons at both sides of her hair. She also wore a female knight's outfit with a skirt made out of chainmail and matching gauntlets. She had a sleeveless black shirt underneath and a white cape with that's pale lavender-blue on the inside and a fur-trimmed collar. She has black stockings held up by garters and white boots with gold linings.

During her pirating days, she wears a rather revealing outfit which consists of a white sleeveless low-cut beribboned blouse under a dark blue corset with gold lacings, a pair of white shorts, gloves and a black choker with a silver rosary that has a dark pink stone in the middle. She wears a purple coat with gold and black embellishments on it as well as a matching pirate hat with a red feather. She has three rings, two on her left (a white gold rosary and a golden signet ring) and one on her right (a dark blue rose-cut diamond ring), as well as a rather elaborate earring on the right ear.

While at the conference, she wears a white fur-trimmed coat over a white knee-length sleeveless dress with black lined hem. She has a pair of white pumps and some pearl accessories while her ribbons are black. She can be seen in other outfits, most of them are usually very feminine; usually consisting of dresses, skirts, tights, blouses and heels with pretty hair accessories such as headbands, clips and berets. Her hair also tend to get extremely messy in the mornings (which is due to the high humidity in the early morning). Along with her, is a white ferret named Fabre that always hangs around hers shoulders, as ferrets and minks are often bred for pets and clothing in Genovia.

Personality

A slightly perfectionistic young woman with a confident and self-assured personality but a somewhat short temper. Energetic, enthusiastic and passionate, she's a very open and friendly girl who makes a pretty good leader due to her charismatic and diplomatic skills. While she is very independent and strong-willed, she is a firm believer in people's emotional and familial bonds, which makes her value highly her friends (as Genovians are known for valuing one's personal bonds with each other). Due to being brought up in the era of the Knights, she may be a rather tomboyish person, she's still very mindful of her manners and can act lady-like if necessary. While she appears like a sophisticated, elegant young woman, she's a rather sharp tongued snarker and can strike a nerve at people if they annoy or anger her. Because of her perfectionism, she's somewhat bossy, arrogant, and pushy but means well, for the most part. She apparently hates to be called 'cute' but doesn't mind to be called 'pretty' and can be slightly vain to her outer appearances as she is seen putting on beauty powder, lip balm or perfume. Emotionally intuitive to others and phyiscally strong as well, she comes across as someone who is capable but when it comes to her own emotions, she has a rather terrible grasp of of them, making her quite prone to getting flustered and often struggles at the very common basis.

She's also slightly cunning and manipulative when provoked and clearly has no problems in using violence towards people if she believes it's necessary, reluctantly but surely. Genovia also takes things very seriously, especially her work and is a bit of a nag when she sees the others goofing off but at the same time is not above having fun and appears to like to tease characters. When away from work, she's much more easy-going and laid-back. She's much more liberal and accepting when it comes to religion, sexuality and choices of literature, and she doesn't seem to be very judgmental but is not afraid of criticizing things when they displease her. While she does have some unstable emotions and is somewhat selfish and childish at times, she is a caring, kind and well-meaning person who is very encouraging and protective towards the people she cares about. She is also blunt, competitive, stubborn and moody, who is quite intelligent especially in talking and diplomacy. Sarcastic and jaded, she's a quite a mischievous person and is rather easy-going towards those she's close to but is more professional that France who though she does share a close relationship before, still annoys her greatly but she clearly cares about him in a way. While she's laid-back and has a pretty good sense of humor, she can get easily offended and is prone to getting angry at insults, particularly about her weight which she is very defensive about (As due to the mild and occasionally dense weather, the soil is heavier than the average). She also tends to act like the 'Cool Big Sister' or the 'Team Mom' especially towards America who she's close to and sees as a younger brother. Despite her competitive streak and slightly smug ego, she's a fair fighter (most of the time) and is a graceful loser, though she does still act cocky if she sees she's clearly winning. Being a former exploring country, she's very curious and inquisitive towards things and has a strong sense of adventure with a feisty streak. Despite her usual cool, sharp-tongued and charismatic façade, she's not immune to getting into strange situations and does have a small sense of insecurity within her which can cause her to be innocently awkward at times. Somewhat of a perfectionist in a sense, but it is stemmed because of her being born in the Medieval where during that time, women were rather looked down on so as a female country, her bosses were extremely strict on her so that she may excel in anything she does, which she always works hard to achieve. Her character is basically a mixture of a 'Tsundere' but is a 'dere-dere' rather than a tsun-tsun, and a 'Tsukkomi', the 'straight man' or the one who always gives out a snarky retort. Because of the fact she's used to getting things her way, she can be easily frustrated if they don't and she'll show a more passive side. She's also slightly sadistic when it comes to teasing her friends and occasionally enjoys trolling around with them but has no malicious intents, for the most part. While she can be teasing and is rather blunt to the point of immodesty, when she herself is teased she gets very easily flustered and tends to stutter.

She is quite athletic in ways. She does equestrian, fencing, swimming, hiking, motorcycling, and snowboarding. She loves tea, horses, literature, traveling, history and classical music. Her hobbies are collecting bottled ships from different parts of the world. There's also baking, reading, writing, cooking, traveling, and playing the violin. She is terrible at painting, as her paintings have been described to look like colored blobs.

Genovia also shows a love for the romance and can be quite emotional when it comes to literature that touches her heart. Her wining drink is extremely large but she never gets drunk unless she drinks beer which will make her easily intoxicated. She also seems to tolerate yaoi and has a slight interest in smut and erotic literature which she denies as she says that she reads them for the 'plot' and that was just a bonus. She also seems to suffer rather frequent nosebleeds.

Basic History

In the 13th Century, sailors happened upon her land and fancying the dynamics of her land, they stayed. Since she was born from curiosity and an adventurous spirit, she befriended most of the European nations, mostly with France, Spain and Prussia as well as Hungary. Fighting against England during the 100 Years War, France, he came to her and Genovia helped him with his recovery. During that time, they grew close and formed a marriage alliance together, where she eventually helped him in defeating England. Being close to the other countries, she became interested in the Renaissance, which caused her to excel academically.

But when France participated in the Italian Wars, she became an Austrian territory, due to France's defeat to the Germanic nation, who forced her divorce on France and his marriage alliance to her. Though she was definitely against it, she was able to get over this because of Hungary's convincement for her not to rebel. She didn't mind her marriage to Austria, who was pretty mild to her by letting her still continue her explorations, this time on the Germanic Nations. Her friendship with Hungary was good and she was close to Italy as well.

But on the 16th Century, England still angry with her for the 100 Years war, ransacked her Pyrus' market, which eventually caused her to send her pirate's to ransack London, which just added fuel to the fire in their diplomatic problems. Eventually Austria divorced her, which she really didn't mind actually. During that time, she decided to strengthen her military and soon became one of the pirating nations, which once again caused rivalry between her and England. During this time, she also became one of the most famous for her explorations to every part of the world.

After the Dutch Revolt, she decided to help her friend Spain, with his trouble with France, by distracting the latter by forming another marriage alliance with him, to which he agreed readily. In the 17th Century, France discovered Canada, she found the new nation a rather an interesting find, so she helped out France in his colonization. During that time, she served as a bit of an elder sister to him.

Soon, she participated in the Austrian Succession War, where she fought along France's side to battle with England. Luckily Austria didn't take her side to France as a personal insult, so she still managed to have a good relationship to both him and Hungary.

Following both yours and France's defeat in the War, was the lack of France's army and support, which ended in another divorce. England took this chance to make her sign the Treaty of Rhodes with him, taking advantage of her vulnerable state.

Despite their rough relationship in the past, they soon became extremely close to each other, as well as to America, whom she often visited along with England. She still thinks that the time she spent with both of them was very precious to her. Feelings between her and England soon began to form in each other, but still Genovia doesn't agree because she does still have lingering ones for France as well.

When the American Revolution began, she didn't intervene but still offered England as much emotional support as she could. At that time France tried to take her back again but she refused his offer, not wanting to be involved with anyone. She managed to enjoy peace and prosperity that time.

Despite her rejection to his proposal, she became concerned with France, so once again she reentered European politics, so that she could keep watch over him, much to England's dismay. Relieved when Napoleon took power but still she refused his offer of marriage again, so when he tried to force her, she became enraged and declared war on him. She managed to stand her ground, until England came to her assistance bringing Spain, Prussia, Austria and Russia, thus ending the Napoleonic Wars.

In the War 1812, England offered a stronger relationship with him, by allying on his side but instead she refused his offer and became neutral. When the Industrial Revolution occurred, her economy kicked into high gear and rapidly becoming an industrial power, she was able to rekindle her friendship with England through trading, as well as with America and the other European nation. At that time, she also began introducing Lefidepthura, a nation she came to know in her exploring days, to the other European Nations but was still able to keep the identity of the nation a secret.

World War I proved a difficult time for her. In the beginning she declared neutrality, but upon witnessing the growing brutality, she stepped in to try to stop it in 1916. At that time, she joined the Allied Forces.

When World War II occurred, she was hesitant to enter due to a lack of resources and remembering the horridness of the First World War. She could no longer ignore the war when the Germans overtook France. Reacting immediately, she once again joined The Allies and rushed to France's side, by holding up along with England, she was able to hold up against the enemy. She became further entrenched in it when England was bombed, sparking her temper. She defended her allies but suffered extreme damage. After the WWII, she was able to get patched up again, as well as help with the repairs with France and England.

Despite the many struggles she has found herself in, she has a strong country that continues to grow in reputation. During world meetings, she stands firm as the voice of reason and contribute her thoughts well. Many nations respect her.

England stated Genovia is the reason why America loves exploring. She admitted that she used to sneak America and Canada away from England to take to her house, where they play and listen to her play the violin.

Genovia and Ar Dour are good friends with each other. They met because of Spain, Ar Dour thought she was amiable for a super power and Genovia thought she was interesting and cute. England

Genovia and England have a rather amusing relationship, one that often causes others to see them like a married couple which causes others to tease them about their 'relationship' which they fervently deny. When they were young, they would often fight due to Genovia being on France's side and England against the latter. They have a rather antagonistic relationship even as children and are often provoking each other with words; mostly Genovia to their pirating days, they have shown to have a rivalry towards each other and often had verbal fights as well as physical bouts.

But they grew close after the Treaty of Rhodes, in which Genovia helped England raise America. While the two still continue to argue over a lot of things, they are extremely close and care about each other very deeply. Genovia often teases England and is quite affectionate with him, hugging him often much to the latter's chagrin and embarrassment but still indulges her. While she does try to cheer him up, England has enough patience to deal with Genovia's random bouts of violence and mood swings. Occasionally whenever Genovia would smile, England would blush slightly in response but denies it. Though Genovia would sometimes call him an 'idiot' and scold him for his bluntness, she is very defensive of him while England on the other hand is extremely overprotective of her.

France

Since he was the one who discovered her, most of her culture came from him. She has known him for a long time and has had a crush on him since their childhood, they even made a marriage alliance, which makes her one of his strongest allies. While she was supportive of him, she has her moments of getting annoyed with him, thus causes her to act rather violently towards him but even still, she cares about him very deeply. While she does show a great deal of care and concern with him, her feelings for him have become more platonic in the years and she now only sees him as her 'Big Brother' rather than someone whom she has romantic feelings for. But that certainly doesn't stop France from harassing and teasing her, much to her anger but she more or less tolerates it, after whacking him on occasion.

Hungary

Genovia and Hungary has been friend since their childhood and have a very close relationship. During the days when she thought herself as a boy, Hungary has a crush on her but it stopped once she found out the truth which surprised Genovia as well but accepted nonetheless. She often teases Genovia by sending her some of her yaoi works, much to Genovia's annoyance and embarrassment but tolerates it nonetheless. Hungry has shown to be quite protective of Genovia and does not approve of some of the latte's friendships, like with Prussia and Romania.

Lefidepthura

They're good friends with each other. Genovia was the first one she met after her rebellion against Europe. They met when Genovia was exploring and Lefidepthura was out checking on her water traps, the reason Genovia didn't fell into one. Genovia was her very first friend and was the one who introduced her to the other European Countries. Sharing their loves for sadism and sarcasm, they often talk and some call them 'The Sadistic Duo' with Genovia being more mature and level-headed than her friend, so she acts as a voice of reason for Lefidepthura. They seem to genuinely care about one another well-being and are protective towards each other.

Prussia

Prussia is one of Genovia's childhood friends and they are quite close to each other. Genovia is the only one who will openly admit to Prussia that he is awesome, much to his delight. She enjoys seeing Prussia with Lefidepthura and finds their relationship adorable. Prussia also has a habit of calling her Schatz, much to her annoyance but she still remains good friends with him. It is shown he is a bit scared of her but still cares about her like a friend. Occasionally their relationship is somewhat familial and sibling-like.

She surprisingly gets along well with Romania and is pretty good friends with him, much to Hungary's indignation. She is seen trading ghost and horrors stories with him and shares a bit of his mischief but is more controlled at showing it. They occasionally talk at meetings.

Spain

Spain is one of Genovia's childhood friends and is very good friends with him. A fellow former explorer, they enjoy talking and visiting each other. Genovia seems to be fond of Spain's relationship with Ar Dour, which she finds "so cute" and often teases them about it. He is sometimes intimidated by her, but nevertheless cares & respects her like a good friend.

Turkey

She and Turkey have rather antagonistic view on each other, and can be seen glowering and being annoyed at one another. This is probably due to the Ottoman Empire's invasion on some of the Genovia territories back in the Middle Ages. Turkey, sometimes calls her 'Bratty Little Girl' while she on the other hand refer to him as 'Old Man'.

Ukraine, Belgium and Liechtenstein

They are Genovia's close friend and often talks to them. She's quite protective with them as she is with all her friends.
