SPOV
Toph and I hid in the bushes waiting for our prank to fall into place. My stomach grumbled loudly "Sokka tell your stomach to shut up" Toph whispered to me, clearly annoyed.
"Its not my fault I'm hungry I told you to let me finish my meat, but did you listen, I think not" I whispered back. We were at a traveling circus, the perfect location for some pranks.
I had known I would get hungry sooner or later so I had come prepared. I quietly reached into my secret stash and took out some good old seal jerky. My mouth watered from the sight of it. "What was that" Toph whispered, I listened. It sounded like a low growl. I looked up to see Bosco the bear eyeing my jerky.
"Um Toph" I heard her grunt of acknowledgment "RUN" I yelled leaping out of the bushes. She did the same and we both ran for our lives, a very hungry bear on our tails.
We were running as fast as we could, but there was a large hill we had gone over to get here and running up it was hard to do.
We reached the top of the hill and stopped for a quick breather knowing the bear was not far behind. "Sokka" Toph asked "yeah" we began to run down the hill, impossibly fast. "You ever heard that when your running from a bear you don't have to be faster than it".
I looked over at her, "no I haven't" she shook her head "all you have to do is run faster than the person next to you" uh oh "don't even think about it" but no sooner had I gotten the words out, a rock erupted from the ground and I tripped.
Toph's plan to outrun me might have worked if it weren't for the fact that we were going down hill. I started rolling so fast that I passed a baffled looking Toph and reached the bottom of the hill near the campsite feeling like the world was spinning.
Toph finally caught up to me, and knowing the bear was not a few feet behind us, grabbed my wrist yanking me to my feet.
"Come on, were almost safe" she yelled dragging me along with her. "Run" she yelled attracting the attention of Zuko and Aang, who were practising fire bending a ways ahead of us. As we reached them I grabbed Aang's wrist and Toph grabbed Zuko's pulling them along with us.
We finally reached the campsite and passed a furious looking Katara. I only just heard her mutter something about being surrounded by idiots.
We slid to a halt and turned to see katara blowing Aapa's whistle. Aapa roared loudly and Bosco turned and ran away in fright. Toph stood up bending the dirt off herself "yeah you better run" she yelled.
As the rest of us got off the ground brushing ourselves off, katara turned to us. "well, what on earth were you thinking" she yelled looking at us. "you could have been seriously hurt", I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly. The four of us looked at each other.
No one wanted to speak, for once. "I didn't do anything Toph just dragged us into this" Zuko said, and we all turned to stair at her. "well who's fault is it that that bear was chasing us in the first place" they all turned to look at me. "well I could have stopped the bear if someone hadn't told me to be nice to animals".
We all turned to Aang "well you were the one who decided to play a prank on the circus people" they all turned to me "it was Toph's idea" we all turned to look at her "oh yeah, well who told me that if I was so bored I should go do something creative" we all turned to katara.
"What! So now this is my fault? Why cant we go one day without being chased by angry villgers, fire nation gaurds, or animals, I'll tell you why, it's because you keep playing these pranks. I will not stand for this anymore." she was mad.
