"He's been pretty good, he still gets tired and sometimes his stomach hurts and he can't really eat much, he sometimes needs to lie down."

"Hikaru. I know how to talk for myself." Kaoru was lying on the exam bed in the doctor's office.

"Yeah. I know, sorry I just want to be sure you're Okay."

"I know you do Hika, and I'm fine. The doctor told you those things would take time to go away."

"Yeah Kaoru, but you've been out of the hospital for three months." The older twin complained.

"Actually, considering everything he went through, It's going to take some more time than a patient who had no complications. Kaoru is doing just fine." The doctor said.

"See Hika, I told you I'd be okay." Hikaru smiled.

"Yeah, you did. I'm really glad everything's okay."

"Me too." Kaoru agreed.

"Well, we're done here so as long as you don't have any problems, I won't have to bother you until next year."

"Good. I'm sorry but I've had enough doctors and hospitals-"

"Don't worry Kao, I'll make sure you don't have to go back." Hikaru promised.

"I know you will Hika." Minutes later, the two were in their family car heading back to their school.

"You sure about this Kao, the boss would understand if you needed to rest for the afternoon."

"I'm sure. We told him we'd come back for the host club. I owe them that much, I caused enough trouble."

"You don't owe anyone anything, you saved my life little brother, I owe you."

"No, you don't Hikaru, Anyway, don't you want to see Haruhi?" He asked tauntingly.

"What do you mean?"

"Since we got out of the hospital, and everyone started coming to our house to help us, you've been different around her. Just tell her."

"Tell her what?"

"Come on Hika, you like her." The older twin blushed slightly.

"Yeah but so do you. Why don't you tell her?"

"Because if I went up to her and said you like her, it wouldn't be the same."

"That's not what I meant and you know it!"

"Calm down, I still think you should say something, ask her out or-"

"Are you crazy, she'd never-"

"You won't know unless you ask."

"Then I guess I'll never know." Hikaru said stubbornly, in truth, he would have liked to tell Haruhi how he felt, but knowing that Kaoru also liked her, he remained silent. The last several months however had been different, with Kaoru needing rest and care, and the hosts coming over to check on them daily, things began to change for Hikaru, his feelings became stronger. He liked that she was so caring with his brother during the times he needed it most.

When kaoru's medication made him sick, Haruhi didn't hesitate to offer to lend a hand, instead she told Hikaru to call her no matter the time of day or night if she was needed. This only made him love her more.

When they arrived, the host club was already open, Kyoya had suggested that Kaoru's condition could have the potential to bring in more guests to see them and to keep it up as long as he could. Though Kaoru really wasn't faking for the sake of the club, he had been feeling unwell during those times.

"Hey you two." Haruhi greeted as they walked in.

"Hey Haruhi." They said in unison making their way to their couch.

"How did your appointment go?"

"It was fine. The doctor says I'm doing good, It's just taking a while because I had complications, but I don't have to see him until next year if I don't have problems." Haruhi smiled.

"Good, I'm glad to hear it." She said and made her way to her own guest.

"Ready Kao?" Hikaru asked as they sat down.

"Yeah." Kaoru leaned back against the cushion. After greeting their guests in the usual way and talking for several minutes, the act began.

Kaoru rested a hand on his abdomen.

"My poor Kaoru, come here, I'll make you feel better." Hikaru said softly.

"I'm Okay Hika, really." Kaoru said trying to play into it.

"If your stomach hurts Kaoru, you need to rest, I can rub it for you, just like at home when we-"

"Hikaru, don't tell them that, It's embarrassing." He cried.

"I'm sorry Kaoru, It's just that you're so adorable when you're lying there."

"Hikaru!" The girls squealed with delight.

"Come here kaoru, lean back, let me make it better." Kaoru allowed Hikaru to reposition them both so that he was leaning back against his chest.

"Hika, I-"

"Shh, just rest."

"You're such a wonderful brother Hikaru, Kaoru we hope you feel better soon." By the end of the day, the twins found that they had more guests than normal since the story of how Kaoru gave Hikaru a second chance to live and Kyoya had encouraged the tale among the guests as well.

"Are you two okay, you were really busy today." Haruhi said as they got ready to leave.

"We're fine, It's just kind of been a long day." Kaoru replied.

"Yeah, I guess so, I'm really glad you guys came back. It was really strange for the short time you were gone to not have you here. Senpai almost called you to make sure everything was okay. I mean it worried us that it took so long."

"Really, you worried about-"

"Of course we did, we almost lost both of you, that's enough to-" Kaoru smiled.

"You're starting to sound like Hikaru, anyways, thank you for everything you've been doing for us."

"It's really not a problem, that's what friends are for."

"Hika-Chan, Kao-Chan!' Honey shouted happily running toward them.

"I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you when you came in, what did the doctor say?"

"That I'm okay." Kaoru answered.

"Even though you still don't feel good sometimes?'

"Yeah, he said it just takes time."

"That's good. Are we all still going to come over on Saturday?"

"If you can, I know you're busy lately with your brother so if you can't, that's not a problem."

"I'm glad the two of you made it back today." Tamaki said joining the group. "I wasn't sure if you would feel up to it."

"We said we'd be here boss, if Kaoru didn't feel like it, he would have just said we wouldn't be here until tomorrow." Hikaru pointed out.

Later that evening, while Hikaru was watching television and Kaoru was lying down, the younger boy thought of how Hikaru looked at Haruhi during her visits, the attention he gave her while Kaoru was resting in bed. It was clear they liked each other, but neither one wanted to say it. There had been talk among the hosts, each one loved Haruhi, only honey and Mori senpai didn't have the same feelings for her.

During the talk, it was revealed that they had also noticed the way Haruhi was around the older twin, and the others decided that Kaoru should encourage Hikaru to confess, and wished them luck. So far Hikaru hadn't made a move. Kaoru picked up his phone and dialed s number. He waited quietly.

"Hello?"

"Hey Haruhi."

"Kaoru, is everything okay, you usually don't call like this, don't get me wrong, I don't mind It's just-"

"Things are okay I guess, are you busy?"

"No." She sounded worried now.

"I have an important favor to ask." Kaoru said grinning devilishly.
