My second ATLA story! Enjoy ^.^
Zuko stalked down the hallway, the silver blade hidden in his sleeves, his face hidden in the dark. His eyes were narrowed, getting duller by the second. He opened up the door as he turned, making the hinges squeak quietly. Zuko checked to see if his prey was startled by the small noise. Seeing that the persona was still laying motionlessly on the mattress, his face broadened, his golden eyes widened as he stood there in front of the figure.
"You're a coward, you know."
The Fire Lord was shocked to hear the being talk. Zuko scrunched up his face. "I'm less of a coward then you!" he spat back.
The person chuckled darkly. "You won't even kill me alive, because you're afraid I'll scream. Just like she did. Pathetic. If you're going to kill me, at least do it with the moxy a real Fire Lord should have."
Zuko furled his eye brow as he launched after his target, pinning him against his bed. "You think I don't have the moxy, huh?" he spat at him. "You wanna say that again?" Zuko grabbed a hold of his prey's shirt and picked him up, only to slam him back against the bed again. "You wanna say it to my face again?"
Zuko reached to his knife and hung it over his target's heart, ready to stab. The man just laughed.
"Do it. I dare you."
Zuko's hard glare softened into a pitiful look. He looked so much like his mother, he just couldn't do it.
Zuko placed his knife back down his sleeve. The man smirked.
"You could've done it, you know. I have nothing left in this world. My mother's dead, my father wants to kill me. No one loves me anymore."
Zuko walked towards the door. "That's not true. I still love you…" he paused, "son." then walked out of his son's room, without another word or glance.
Just for some info, Mai was murdered, at night, though it was meant for Zuko, Zuko lost his sanity for a while, and after trying to kill himself for months, he tried to kill his son, who was splitting image of Mai to make the pain go away.
Eh, not my best, but I thought it was pretty good.
